Terminology
Hello folks,
I''ve blended/updated the Glossary of Terms
(<http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/GlossaryOfTerms>). It seems

Some people consider a "manifest" to be a configuration file written in
puppet, e.g. any .pp file. But at my organization, we''ve considered the

CentOS and Atheros
What's the easiest path to having my Atheros wireless cards supported,
particularly in C5?
In the past, I've chosen to download source and build my own, but that's
become a little tiresome.
At one point, OpenSUSE was the easy option, but since 10.1 it's dropped
madwifi.

Is it wise to use an outage to promote your business, not on the user's

I'm setting up a Samba server using CentOS 4's (RedHat Enterprise Linux)
standard version (v.3.0101411). I want to be able to force users to
change their password upon first logging in and to have to change them
after a certain period of time (per user, not system-wide).
The problem is that the pdbedit commands don't seem to be registering at

Last call for fixes: Releasing tomorrow
I think I''ve got every fix except one in that''s going to make it into
grover, which I''ll hopefully be releasing tomorrow. I plan on adding
Tim Stoop''s patches for home directory management (#432), but
everything else is getting pushed to the next release at this point.
I''ve fixed all of the major bugs, or at least I think I have. If

Enterprise Package Tracker
Is there a utility such as rpmfind that exists for enterprise
rpms? One could locate rpms from various repos e.g.
- Centos base, extras, plus
- EPEL
- RPMForge
- KBS repos
Due to the requirement of a subscription, upstream or others
like Oracle Unbreakable linux couldn't be listed.

Strange yum behavior
Hello,
'yum search R' returns an impossibly-long list. So I tried 'yum
search R.x86_64' and 'yum search R-2.3.0' and few others to no
avail. (Google revealed that R package does exist in kbsingh
repository.) However, 'yum install R' did offer to install the
correct package.
Can someone enlighten me as to why did the searches failed or
generated a hugh list
