smbclient is SLOWWWWWW; getaddrinfo failed
# rpm -qa samba
samba-4.6.7-0.fc26.x86_64
Hi All,
# smbclient -L FedoraServer -U workcentre -W xxxxx
takes about 18 second to ask for the password. (Windows is slow too.)
Me thinks it has to do with this error from /var/log/samba/samba-log.192.168.255.12

When I put a tail on the above log, this

Samba share not working: getpwuid(1000) failed, Failed to finalize nt token & NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
I have a small home network with server and 5 clients all on an internal
LAN with private IPs.
Samba, Version 4.7.6-Ubuntu, file sharing is not working on the server
for any of the 5 clients. I have tried both mount.cifs and smbclient.
The same errors are thrown in the server's samba logs for all connection
attempts, regardless of how the client tries to connect: getpwuid(1000)
failed,

GPO / Sysvol problems
Hai,
The best info is missing.
What are the windows event ID errors?
What is the right set on the profiles folder?
If you layout is : /home/samba/profiles and you shared the folder profiles,
then show me getfacl /home/samba/profiles.
I see your running, Samba 4.7, are you able to upgrade to 4.9.4?
This:

Can't access by NetBIOS Aliases or IP Address
Hi all.
I am running Debian jessie server with Samba, which has joined the Active Directory domain. The domain controllers are Windows Server 2012 R2.
After I upgraded Samba version from 4.1.17+dfsg-2+deb8u2 to 4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u2, I'm facing the problem that I can't access Samba share by NetBIOS Aliases or IP Address.
The Samba's NetBIOS name is mysamba, and I can access by

Hi Rowland,
I appreciate the the help! You did exactly what I
ask for, which was to let it rip.
I will have to read over slowly several times. Be nice
to disable winbind too.

GPO / Sysvol problems
And this is some Samba logs from a connect where the profile isn't handled properly.
Near the end, it looks like Samba resets this connection... (I could be wrong - I know nothing about how to read Samba logs.)

cifs reading Samba mounted share...permissions error
I have a Samba 3.0.23a-1.fc5.1 configured on a Fedora 5 server. It's
joined to an Active Directory 2003 domain controller using Winbind, etc.
I'm able to connect from various workstations using active directory
user accounts/credentials just fine to shares on this server,
permissions work, and all is well. I'm guessing this is set up
correctly.
However, from another Fedora 5 server,

GPO / Sysvol problems
Hi Gregory,
I see few things, start here :
from smb.conf remove : map to guest = Bad User
This enabled on a domain member or other domain server is really a no go.
This makes debugging really hard.

Looks like there are resolving problems.

XP auto enrollment error; TEMP profile
Dear list,
Help!
I just upgrade a samba server.
Server:
Fedora 26
samba-4.6.8-0.fc26.x86_64
Workstations (5 of them):
XP Pro SP3
The old server was set up as a Domain controller. I copied the
smb.conf over to the new server.
The XP workstations can see and mount everything.
On the workstations, I removed myself from the old domain and rebooted,
powered off the old server,
