BUILTIN\Administrators - failed to call wbcSidToUid: WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
Thank you both, Rowland and Louis. I'll try to answer you both and give you more info about our domain. Generally: In the past, we have Samba 3.5 NT4 domain on SLES server (designed ages before, never upgraded). In 2015 I finally decided to migrate to Samba 4 AD. In those day it was 4.2. samba-tool ntacl sysvolcheck was ok, no errors. AD worked (and working) as expected. This summer, I

BUILTIN\Administrators - failed to call wbcSidToUid: WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
Hai, I leave the advice about the uid/gid numbering to Rowland, i can not give a good advice on that. The script was made in such a way that it should not matter what uid/gids are where used. The script looks them up for you, but it must be error free so we are sure what is set is correct. If you look in the script, you see the four SID. DC_SERVER_OPERATORS="S-1-5-32-549"

To Rowland: > This was perfectly common, nobody thought this would ever be a problem, mainly because you had to have a user or group in /etc/passwd> or /etc/group mapped to a Samba. Now with AD, you do not need a user or group in /etc/passwd or /etc/group, so any user or group that uses the RID as a Unix ID is> probably too low and is denying the use of any local Unix users Yes, but where

GPO Permissions _AGAIN_
Hi all, I'm afraid I'm back to my old issue of GPO permissions. I have two ADDCs providing an AD Domain (internal.stmaryscollege.co.uk (short-name 'SMC')). Servers are called 'ad-01' and 'tainan'. ad-01 is 'Version 4.0.10' and tainan is 'Version 4.1.0rc4' (the latest version in the package repos of the respective OSs (arch and gentoo)) I have

Hello list, I have problems with my PDC Samba Servers and all file servers. All DC Server have a compiled Samba 4.4.5. File servers have Samba Debian packages. In all shared folders, the ACL has the group "Everyone" and I can't remove it. The biggest problem concern SYSVOL, I can't modify GPO, I have an error in MMC. I have tried to resolv the problem with the

GPO problems on a 4.1.6 AD, classicupgraded, uncaught exception
Hi all, We'er running a classicupgraded samba4 AD 4.1.6 sernet for a month or two now, and all is very well. :-) It has been classicupgraded using the same 4.1.6. Today I wanted to try GPO's and they are not applied. GPUpdate /force tells me: "Windows attempted to read the file blahblah\gpt.ini from a domain controller and was not successful". Taken from the mailinglist, I

Hello Sébastien Le Ray, The PC reply the following... The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the user name. This could be caused by one or more of the following: a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller. b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller). "This security ID may not be assigned as the owner of this object" when trying to create a GPO
I have upgraded Samba from a NT PDC to an AD DC about a week ago. Everything went pretty well until today. I've already configured about 25 GPO's (through RSAT on a Windows 10 machine) - but when I came to add more GPO's - it wouldn't let me with the above error message. My specs are: Samba 4.5.0 Slackware -current 64bit Kernel 4.4.20 The client machine is a Windows 10 Pro.
