Setting SePrintOperatorPrivilege
I'm trying to set SePrintOperatorPrivilege in Samba 4.6.7, in order to
upload windows drivers from a Windows machine.
The command I use is:
/sudo net rpc rights grant "WORKGROUP.LOCAL\roedhaette"
SePrintOperatorPrivilege -U "PRINTSERVER\roedhaette"/
The message I get is:
/Bad SMB2 signature for message//

User names not replicating to secondary DC
I have 2 Ububtu DCs. One acting as a secondary/failover. At one point
the users were replicated from primary to secondary. But now they are not
replicating.
The output from samba-tool drs showrepl is attached. What else may I
provide to aid diagnostics?
I know Samba does not replicate sysvol 'yet', so rsync is needed, but that
does not seem to contain the users.
Thank you,

Samba printserver works for Win10 Pro but not Win10 Home edition
Hello,
I have set up a Samba printserver at a school. The server is a
standalone server, connected to no domain. I have installed printers
with Cups, and uploaded Windows printerdrivers to the shared driver
folder. I can add the shared printers in a Windows 10 Pro client,
without any hassle. When I try the same in any Win 10 Home edition, I
get Windows error messages like "error

Member Server Setup Assistance
Hi Rowland,
If you don't mind I like to post my member server configuration as
I attempt again. This is how my member server(Ubuntu 12.04) is
configured after fresh install and prior to Samba build. Anything I'm
missing that could cause my issue as I proceed? I assume no other
prerequisites must be done on the other DC's either? Thanks.

Suddenly Windows clients can't join Samba+ldap PDC anymore
Hi all,
some years ago i configured a `Primary Domain Controller` through
Samba and LDAP (slapd) on an Ubuntu machine (13.10) at 192.168.69.203
which should be accessible by the string/name `SRV1`. I must note i
did not installed winbind. I've never had any issue and it looks like
it's working fine as about 10 Windows machines joined the PDC and
Windows users can login against PDC on

Member Server Setup Assistance
Rowland,
I've gotten a bit further. It appears my use of '.local' is causing
the issue from what I've researched. I ran '|/etc/init.d/avahi-daemon
stop'. |This allowed me to successfully join the domain.

Suddenly Windows clients can't join Samba+ldap PDC anymore
Hi,
thanks a lot for the tips. I already did the first one, importing the
following into the registry:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanManWorkstation\Parameters]
"DomainCompatibilityMode"=dword:00000001
"DNSNameResolutionRequired"=dword:00000000
I didn't do the second tip but it looks like it's not

Rowland,
I had a typo in my hosts file which is the reason my initial DNS
update failed. Corrected and joined again. Successfully joined and
updated DNS A record. I then made sure to give 'Domain users' a id of
10000. I am now able to run' getent passwd' and see all my domain users!
YES! However I still see something that confuses me. When I run 'id
