Upgrading a ctdb cluster: samba not listening on TCP port 445
Hi all,
I try to update two clustered samba file servers. Right now samba 4.7.0
with ctdb is running on both of them. To update samba I stopped ctdb on
one of the servers, and compiled and installed samba 4.7.1 with:
./configure --with-cluster-support --with-shared-modules=idmap_tdb2,idmap_ad,vfs_glusterfs --with-systemd
Trying to start ctdb on the updated server fails with "

Samba 4 "Classic PDC" trusts fail with Win 2012 domain but succeed Win 2008
I noticed that smbclient worked on some solaris 11 machines but not
others. The issue a slightly different version of libarchive on the
machine (0.12 vs 0.13), even though I thought all machines had been
patched to the same level. So I decided to recompile.
When recompiling samba 4.4.7 on solaris 11 I saw the following warning

In summary
* DomainA Samba classic domain- PDC and BDC are running Samba

* DomainB Windows AD domain , level 2008, domain controller is
Windows 2012 or 2012R2 (you are correct that there are not primary and
backup controllers in AD)

Logon Script Doesn't
Hi,
I've finally been dragged kicking and screaming into the wonderful world of XP.
I've been able to join a domain and login with the help of the docs on samba.org and
gleaning info from this list. Google and I don't get along.
My question is How do I get the logon script to run when XP logs in? Win 98 doesn't
have a problem running the logon script.
Here is part of the

unexpected subfolder locaton in Maildir/.INBOX.subfolder
Hallo,
I try to migrate existing imap server to dovecot 1.2 in debian squeeze
if I connect to imap://user at host/INBOX
Inbox works as expected and I get the content of
Maildir/{cur,new,tmp}
Maildir/.subfolder already exists
if I connect to imap://user at host/INBOX.subfolder
I get "folder not found"
if I do a imap directory listing (raw mutt config, no subscriptions)

connection to director (lmtp) time out
Hi all,
I'm running two directors with lmtp proxy as relay transport for my
mail exchangers.
relay_transport = lmtp:inet:dovecot-directors.example.net
dovecot-directors.example.net resolves to 172.17.1.3 and 172.17.1.4
Now, .3 is down and Postfix tries to deliver it to .4 but this
connection gets a timeout:

Ring SYNC appears to have got lost, resending after upgrade
Hi @all,
on Saturday I upgraded two dovecot servers from squeeze to wheezy and
dovecot from 2.1.x to 2.2.5 (compiled from sources). After the upgrade
everything worked fine at first.
On Sunday Morning I recognized these errors (they occured after a reload
for logging purpose on midnight) on one server:
director: Error: Ring SYNC appears to have got lost, resending

deliver to subfolder with dovecot's LDA
Hi all...
How can deliver messages to a subfolder using the LDA?
For example, I want a message to joe+spam at abc.com to be placed inside
the 'spam' subfolder.
Any hint is appreciated.
Thanks ;)

I have a windows 2003 AD domain and a server joined to that domain.
Winbind is being used as an idmap. Most everything seems to work fine.
Winbind gets user info correctly:

deliver to subfolder?
Can dovecot's deliver deliver a mail to a certain subfolder within a
user's mailbox?
I was thinking of something along the lines of:
deliver -m subfolder
But what is the correct syntax to deliver to "spam", subfolder of INBOX?
deliver -m spam < message.txt
deliver -m INBOX.spam < message.txt

SMBD not authenticating against Active Directory
Hi,
Iam trying to setup Samba version 3.2.3 on Redhat (RHEL5) server to use
Active Directory for authentication. I followed the instructions from
article in following website:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-au/magazine/dd228986.aspx
Setup Winbind + Samba + Kerberos and it seems to work fine. I can see the
users in Active Directory through winbind as well as authenticate users
using NTLM
