One DC cannot authenticate off of another DC
Hello Samba Friends, I have a single DC (we'll call it, "DC1") that simply will not take my password when I run this command:? #samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://dc2 ldap://dc3 -Uadministrator? Or this command:? #samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://dc1 ldap://dc2 -Uadministrator? I basically get this:? > Password for [SAMDOM\administrator]:? > Password for [SAMDOM\administrator]:?

One DC cannot authenticate off of another DC
Thank you, Louis, for your reply. By simply asking me to provide outputs of the aforementioned files, I found the cause of my first problem (auth failing). It was my /etc/hosts file on dc1. All of them should look like this, and indeed DC2 and DC3's *did* look like this: # cat /etc/hosts > 127.0.0.1 ? ? ? localhost.samdom.mycompany.net ?localhost > 192.168.3.201

One DC cannot authenticate off of another DC
Hai, What is the running OS and version of samba on these servers. Can you post some configs of these DC's ( all 3 ) /etc/hosts /etc/resolv.conf /etc/samba/smb.conf And for all 3 this the keytab output. klist -ke /var/lib/samba/private/secrets.keytab Your also sure you servers time is not out of sync? ldapcmp issue
Hi all, It seems "samba-tool ldapcmp" does not support too much items in Samba's database. Playing for a while with DB I was never able to run ldapcmp successfully. So yesterday I installed a platform to fill piece by piece my two small DCs and to run ldapcmp. The process follows. Test platform: 2 DCs using Debian 8.1 "net install" with only system tools, up to date,

samba-tool ldapcmp without --filter errors out.
Hai, ? I've just upgrade samba on my DC's from 4.10.10 to 4.11.2. Which went fine offcourse ;-) but when i checking my replications i noticed the following. ? If people have problems upgrading, the steps to take are : ( Debian buster, samba upgrade 4.10=> 4.11 van-belle repo. ) # update 4.10 to 4.11 sed 's/410/411/g'? /etc/apt/sources.list.d/van-belle.list apt update apt

bind9 won't run
I am working on my second Ubuntu 16.04.1LTS running Samba 4.5.0 with Bind9_DLZ. I have one machine just like this one. Same hardware, same software setup. First machine is working fine. At the moment this (second) machine is not joined to the other (until I get Bind running.) I have searched log complaints. Compared settings between the two machines and despite bind running on the first one,

ldapcmp issue
Hi Mourik, whenChanged was replicated in my test once I did replicate in both way, so it seems to me it is supposed to be replicated... Then the fact it is not always replicated seems to me an issue. Perhaps a bug report for these two issue (whenChanged not always replicated and ldapcmp hanging once DB is too much filled) would be the right way to proceed... Cheers, mat 2015-09-03 10:42

4.1.12: ldapcmp differences on attribute 'whenChanged'
Hi all, I have just updated our dc's from sernet 4.1.11 to sernet 4.1.12. And suddenly since that update, we're getting many ldapcmp failures on the attribute 'whenChanged'. In 4.1.11 life was good, and ldapcmp reported no differences at all. Here is a sample: (dc2 <-> dc3) Comparing: 'CN=podcast,CN=Users,DC=samba,DC=company,DC=com' [ldap://dc2]

Samba4: ldapcmp incorrectly reporting some attributes as missing on secondary controller
Hi, I have a domain with a single Windows 2003 DC running. Today I created a Samba4 DC (using 4.0.0 release) and asked it to join the existing domain as an additional controller. Replication of both the objects and dns entries appears to be working well, and the usual tests of adding a user to one and confirming it is available in the other is similarly working. However, the `ldapcmp` tool
