smbclient -L returns NT_STATUS_REVISION_MISMATCH
Most likely, your Windows 10 (file server) is disallowing SMB1 connections,
which is the default for smbclient.
You can force smbclient to use a higher protocol with "smbclient -m SMB2"

Shanks for the hint! Very strange that the default is only to use a
deprecated protocol… Anyway, this option has no effect on this issue…

REVISION_MISMATCH
Hi,
I have 2 questions:
1:-------------------------------------------
I installed samba-3.6.7, run the following commands
at client: smbclient -m SMB2 //server/share
at the server side: the smb.conf has "max protocol = SMB2", and I ran smbd
with this smb configuration file using "-s smb.conf"
I also captured some packets. I found the client claims that it can support
SMB1

Did anybody test smbclient4 against smbd4 using SMB2
Dear everybody,
I want to give a shout "Did anybody test smbclient4 against smbd4 using
SMB2". I failed to do so. I always got the error
NT_STATUS_REVISION_MISMATCH. I don't believe that my configuration is
wrong. I am checking the source code, but I really want somebody to tell me
if they have done it and succeeded.
Thanks

unexpected NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_INV
Greetings.
After creating a new installation with version '4.18.2-2' and copy
configuration from the previous server '4.17.5-1'
I am getting NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_INVALID when trying to make files with
':' within their name.
Also existing files with ':' in names start to mangle, until i set 'mangled
names = no'.
I do not have any windows clients.

WG: Running 2 SAMBA4 DC Replication WERR_BADFILE error
Can Somebody have a look !?
Or an Idea. How bind can resolve the second cname ._mscds.
I can take every other cname for my second samba4 but the: a441f8f9-629d-43c4-bce6-a5dfba1e4ad9._msdcs
NODE1 is: 02284f45-de16-4125-a795-3b614f540ef7
NODE2 is: a441f8f9-629d-43c4-bce6-a5dfba1e4ad9
So Replication from NODE2 to NODE1 works fine:

Unable to Join the Active Directory as a Domain Controller
Hello,
I am trying to use Samba in version 4.7.0 as a replication of an Active
Directory running on Windows 2012-R2.
For that, I execute the process described on this page:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Samba_DC_to_an_Existing_Active_Directory
When I run the command to join the domain controller, samba-tool returns
the following error:

rsync --delete problems
For some time I have been using rsync to backup data between different
machines and my NAS drive.
But within the last 2 days I have found out that rsync is not removing old
files from destination - directories renamed or removed from source.
In this example I want to sync files on my Debian Linux server to a NAS
drive. NAS drive is mounted using smbmount.
Using "-avhzn" dry-run it

Dovecot pop3s problem : can't see email
Hi. I am trying to setup dovecot running a pop3 service for external clients
(and intend in future to setup an imap interface on localhost only for
squirrelmail.)
Exim is delivering ok to local mailboxes, but I can't seem to get
dovecot to serve them.
