GPOs: only Default Domain Policy is being applied, ohers are ignored
I recently discovered that only the Default Domain Policy is being applied. All other GPOs seem to be ignored. All Sysvol filesystem objects have the right permissions. Both DCs are running Samba 4.4.3 over CentOS 7. There are no related errors in logs or Windows Event Viewer. Other policies did work before. I noticed that the corresponding filesystem objects were lastly placed on users’ desktops

GPO Security Filtering "Access Denied"
Hi list, Very strange problem here on Samba 4.5.2 DCs. We have set up some GPOs and they seem to work fine, however we need to apply some Security Filtering to a couple of them. We can add groups and users until we reach 6 groups/users/computers in the list box in GPO management. As soon as we try to add a 7th entry, GPO Management throws an "Access Denied" error. Even odder is

GPO administration right on the station for ordinary user
The Wiki page you pointed to describes a modification to the *Default Domain Policy*. This is probably why you never met the issue I described. As I reported on my previous post, the Default Domain Policy was the only one that kept working after the Microsoft update. All the other GPOs that I had set stopped being applied.

Thank you for your suggestion, I read the whole discussion. My situation is little bit different - my machine policy works, but it stops working once I remove Apply permission from Authenticated Users and replace it with Read and Apply permission for Domain Computers. Group Policy Results in RSAT shows Reason Denied: Access Denied (Security Filtering) for affected computer. The same result I

Hai Marc, Well first, no you did nothing wrong here. This was fine when you wrote it, but after the BadLock Bug, Microsoft change the way some policies are applied. A good explaination here. http://www.mistercloudtech.com/2016/06/22/june-14th-windows-update-changes-group-policy-security-filtering/ Best regards, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: Marc Muehlfeld

Hello, I think I really need some help on this. Since Samba 4.2.11 upgrade my Windows 10 clients are unable to synchronize group policies. I have asked about this already here <https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2016-April/199226.html>. Now I re-investigate the issue with Windows 10 1607 update and still face the same issue which prevents me from rolling out this configuration in

Hello Sébastien Le Ray, The PC reply the following... The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the user name. This could be caused by one or more of the following: a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller. b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller). GPO administration right on the station for ordinary user
Good morning people, I need a help with a gpo to give administration right only on the workstation for a normal user. I tried 3 tutorials I found on google plus none worked. How do you do when you need an ordinary user to have administration right only on the workstation? If you have a tutorial that is running in version 4.5.5 and can make it available thank you very much. Regards,
