Schema Change Breaks Replication
I believe a schema change on a Windows DC (2008rc) has broken replication with our S4 DCs. Anyone have any tips or pointers to resolve this? I have three S4 DCs [CentOS6] and one Windows 2008R2 DC. The Windows 2008R2 DC has the schema master FSMO, and I believe the Exchange schema was added. I am willing to pay US dollars to get this issue resolved. I need the replication restored, the

replicating sysvol with windows DCs

It won't work. Because you will loose the filesystem ACLs if you sync from Windows to *nix. Regards, Marc -----BEGIN PGP

SysVol replication (DFS-R)
Any plane in future to build-in Samba SysVol replication (DFS-R) ? For now we have this workaround at link: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Rsync_based_SysVol_replication_workaround

Sysvol "incorrect parameter" on some new DC's
I have a site with a working Samba4 AD domain with a single DC. It works. I've added three new DCs to the domain [using the SerNet packages for 4.0.21]. The intention is to then demote the old, original Samba4 DC. But problems exist for netlogon/sysvol. One of the new DCs - the second one added - works, clients can access netlogon & sysvol. However the other two DCs have ACL errors

FRS & *: an actual business use
I've noticed a growing number of stores using FRS radios. It would make sense to interface (via soundcard/console driver, with the nessacary electrical conversion) a VOX FRS radio to asterisk to allow someone in the office to page/talk with people on the floor or warehouse. You could throw that call (ie, all the radios) into a meetme conference. Then, you could have people in the office

Re: FRS and GMRS via *
You don't need to reinvent anything to tie radios to *. Ham systems like IRLP, Echolink, eqso etc all have fairly tight controls to keep from being abused (although with a little Linux knowledge, the IRLP package can easily be used to set up your own network using their protocol). Jim Dixon seems to have done the work to integrate radios with * already. See

Why is S4 attempting to execute rndc when using *INTERNAL* DNS?
My AD domain (SerNET S4 4.5.3) using S4's internal DNS, and always has. %d in configuration file does not work
I am trying to set up dovecot in a postfix virtual account/domains setting. In the configuration file I would like to use %d in two places, for: mail_location = /var/mail/vhosts/%d/%n and to specify the location of the respective passwd file: passdb passwd-file { args = /etc/auth/%d/shadow } Looking at the logs, %d is empty while %n works, so dovecot is looking for something in

Problem joining a Win2008R2 DC
Hello, this is now my second attempt to join a Windows Server 2008R2 DC to a samba AD domain. I had to forcibly remove the first 2k8 DC from the domain after I messed it up completely in the first try. I followed "Demoting an Offline Domain Controller" from the wiki here. This time joining fails right during running dcpromo. I get the error that it could not replicate

identical values not so identical? newbie help please!
Hi there! I'm not sure I can create a minimal example of my problem, so I'm linking to a minimal .RData file that has only two objects: obs and exp, each is a 6x9 matrix. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10364753/test.RData link to dropbox file (I hope this is acceptable mailing list etiquette!) Here's what happens: > obs[1, 1] [1] 118 > exp[1, 1] [1] 118 > obs[1, 1]-exp[1, 1] [1]
