Windows 10 Domainlogon Samba 4.4.5 NT4-style domain
There are only a small network with 10 win7 and 1 win10 at the moment. I
think the work of a migration is overkilled. At all this is only a test
PC so an generic user profile is the simpler solution in my opinion.
Thank you luke.

Debian Jessie samba 4.5.8-2 4.5.10 4.6.5 available
Hai,
I've (finaly) complete and restructured my apt.
All non-samba related packages are removed, so it all dedicated for samba.
More Info about my apt found here: http://apt.van-belle.nl/
The apt repo has the following setup.
All term like (jessie) and (jessie-backports) and (unstable) are related to this apt repo (apt.van-belle.nl),
but everything is builded and tested on Debian

re Trouble with idmap_ldap in 3.3.6
We also have been using samba 2 and 3 for years with ldap idmap.
This occurs whether I use sernet 3.3.7 rpms or build my own from
samba.org3.3.7 tgz.
I increased logging and here is what I get in log.winbindd-idmap.
[root at niairphome2 ~]# tail -f /var/log/samba/log.winbindd-idmap

Trust problems after upgrade from 3.5 to 3.6
Hello.
My setup:
_ one Samba 3.5 domain (XXXXXXXX), with a PDC and a BDC, both running
FreeBSD;
_ one AD domain (YYYYYYYY) running on two Windows 2003 DCs;
_ bidirectional trust between the two domains.
Everything used to work until I moved the PDC from Samba 3.5 (EOL'ed) to
3.6; now, users from domain YYYYYYYY cannot access the PDC's shares.
I used to have in smb.conf:

Winbind question
Hi,
I successfully set up an AD DC, and now, I want to join a file server as
member in this domain.
I followed this tutorial :
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_a_Samba_AD_Member_Server
All works fine, my server join my AD without problem, samba starts fine
and winbind too. But when I look at my domain users, the uid/gid
returned by winbind are in the TDB range instead of the AD

Windows 10 Domainlogon Samba 4.4.5 NT4-style domain
I had this issue as well; unfortunately, the fix that isn't recommended by
the Samba team is to disable SMB 2/3 on Windows 10, which can break them
from connecting to other systems (and that's why it's not recommended). Any
reason you can't migrate soon to Samba4 AD?

I have setup and ADDC and an file server.
On fileserver i can see domain users with wbinfo and getent passwd.

I get an error "Computer cannot be managed. Verify that the network path

smbclient ends in NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED error
I have applied the changes as suggested. After restarting the server, smbclient-command worked! But after I restarted the Samba Client with „/etc/init.d/samba restart“ I was once again confronted with the same problem! Again, only another server restart did the trick. Now I am facing this problem constantly. As soon as I restart, this command among others won’t work without displaying an error

Package: xen-hypervisor-4.4-amd64
Version: 4.4.1-9+deb8u1
Severity: important
A few minutes after starting a domU, network access is no longer possible from and to it.
This does not always happen and is not easily reproducible, but seems to occur in all newly started domUs from some point in time on. However, also restarting the dom0 does not necessarily prevent the problem.

Classic confusion over new IDMAP params
Hello fellow Samba Users and Developers ...
Recently I have been struggling to clearly understand the current
documentation for IDMAP. There seems to be the old way of doing things
and the new way of doing things...and the documentation is not very
clear as to which way is appropriate for which release of Samba. At
least not clear to those of use who don't read source code ;-)
