Problem mapping extended acls with sssd and samba
First of all, thank you. Yes. I'm sure sssd is running 100%. The documentation of the link that passed me served as a basis to implement. I'll follow your advice and I'll ask you on the sssd user list. Even so, I hope someone else who went through the same score answers here. Thank you all. 2017-03-19 18:16 GMT-03:00 Rowland Penny via samba <samba at lists.samba.org>: >

Problem mapping extended acls with sssd and samba
Thanks for the answer. But even removing the write list parameter, the problem persists. Excuse me. But the sssd service is working perfectly, and I see no reason to ask for help on the sssd user list. One important information is that when I apply the ACLs using the setfacl command the mapping is done and the permissions are applied. But when I use windows explorer the ACLs permissions are

Problem mapping extended acls with sssd and samba
Hello. I was able to solve the problem. The system was using the libwbclient library of the samba package. I just did the following: Yum install sssd-libwbclient Set this new library installed with default on the system: Alternatives --set libwbclient.so.0.12-64 /usr/lib64/sssd/modules/libwbclient.so.0.12.0 And restart the smbd and sssd daemons: Systemctl restart sssd smbd Now I can set the

Odd Samba/btrfs AD member server problem
openSUSE 13.2 machine with btrfs for / Running samba-4.1.14-3.3.x86_64. Samba is configured to have the server act as a member server in a Windows Activedirectory domain. wbinfo -u and getent passwd work fine. getent passwd shows local and domain users. However, setfacl -n -R -m u:userX:rwx /testpath fails if userX is a domain user, but succeeds if userX is a local user. Using different

Problem mapping extended acls with sssd and samba
Hello. I have a file server with samba and sssd. Is working perfectly. The problem is when I define extended ACLs using windows explorer. Acls are not applied in the file system to the groups and users of the domain. But when I work with winbind I can apply the extended acls in the file system. Follow the contents of the sssd.conf and smb.conf file [global] WORKGROUP = DOMAINE Realm =

"@ERROR: auth failed on module"
Greetings list, I've been banging my head against this for a few days now, so finally I throw myself upon your tender mercies. I had rsync working fine to make offsite backups via an IPSEC VPN over an ADSL connection - until the remote raid5 server went down. It was rebuilt with RedHat 8 and since then I have not been able to rsync to it. Both ends have vanilla rsync-2.5.5 installed.

I received this from Matt Jockers and it worked! I missed something. How can I now see(display) this list? Hi Riann, There are a couple of ways that you could do this. . . the best approach would probably be to use *grep* instead of *which*, but let me show you both ways. On page 30, replace whales.v <- which(moby.word.v == *whale*) with whale_words <- c(*whale", *whales",

Samba and ActiveDirectory authentication
Hi all I'm interesting in using Samba shares with Microsoft AD in following way: I would like to set up my shares on Samba 3.6.3, authenticate Windows users via ActiveDirectory and have users/groups access to those shares configured in ActiveDirectory (not in smb.conf). Is that possible? I did fair amount of research but I could not find enough information or tutorial how to do it. Do I need
