Analysis with spatstat and Kcross() requires to much memory
Hi I am running analysis with Kcross from the package spatstat and I am getting a message that R can not allocate enough memory for a vector of 900MB. R seems to be running towards the 2GB limit per process. The dataset is not to big (ca 3000 points) but the mask for the points is extremely irregular (a buffer around roads which have been sampled) and I can do trhe analysis if I use a

Test if remote file is actually RSS/XML
Hi all, I want my users to be able to view RSS feeds of their choice on my site. But i''d like to be able to check the files they are submitting as feeds are actually XML before attempting to parse and display them. I''ve been using feed tools to display the contents of feeds which works perfectly, but i''d like some way to check if a file is a feed/xml. Any pointers in

ERROR: Invalid idmap range for domain *!
Today I upgraded two AD DCs to Samba 4.60. All looks well. I noticed greater speed in some areas. When I run "testparm", the output contains the following: idmap range not specified for domain '*' ERROR: Invalid idmap range for domain *! "samba-tool testparm" does not output this. I remember that some efforts were put into unifying the behavior of these tools.

Updating to Samba Version 4.19.5 via Debian Bookworm Backports
Hi After seeing that Bookworm Backports has now got Samba version 4.19.5, I decided to update my samba machines. However, I find that those running on AMD64 architecture, the update doesn't appear. Machines running on arm architectures (armel & arm64) are updated correctly. I haven't changed anything in the /etc/apt/samba.lists file and previous updates have worked fine. Is

Problems with Member server in a Samba AD Domain
I have set up a Samba Active Directory domain controller on a fresh install of Debian 8.3 (Jessie) using Samba 4.4.0 and everything works fine as far as I can tell. I had users' home folders with the H: drive letter connecting to the share on the DC and folder redirection for My Documents, Pictures etc. Then I decided to add a member server (also Debian Jessie) and put the users'

Idmap config Samba 4 NT4-style domain
Hello, I have a server with an NT4-style domain an Samba 4.2.14+dfsg-0+deb8u5. The samba uses an LDAP backend and all is fine so far. challenge/response problem in 4.5.5
freely quoting from something I posted on #samba a couple of hours ago ########### it appears that challenge/response is actually broken in 4.5.5 Have upgraded 4 dc's and now winbind/freeradius does not work. focused on the radius box thinking that was the problem -- till I finally ran wbinfo -a user%password on all the dc's and they all behaved the same. -> plaintext succeeded

prcomp - surprising structure
Hello, I did a pca with over 200000 snps for 340 observations (ids). If I plot the eigenvectors (called rotation in prcomp) 2,3 and 4 (e.g. plot (rotation[,2]) I see a strange "column" in my data (see attachment). I suggest it is an artefact (but of what?). Suggestion: I used prcomp this way: prcomp (mat), where mat is a matrix with the column means already substracted followed by a
