Access denied, and other problems, trying to administer printers
Hi, Today I finally got time to do some more testing. I set up a Windows 10 machine but got the same problem (just wanted to make sure...). I will do more testing tomorrow but I have a question about an error I'm seeing in the logs. Do You know what "access DENIED for non-printserver bits" (log level 3) means? Ok, If it does not matter, tell me which printer driver version are you using. V3 or V4 that is one you should know, because if its a "V4" driver, then its not supported by samba. And samba doe only support non-packaged aware printer drivers. ( see wiki ) Are you using spoolss or spoolssd ? > Yes, I know WHERE it happens but not WHY... I need to know why so I can > do

Can't connect to printers from Win 2008 and Win 7
Hello! We have problems connecting to printers (spoolss) from Windows Server 2008 (64-bit, domain member) and Windows 7 (64-bit, NOT domain member). When trying to connect to the printers we get an error message saying "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000000d)". Connecting as a "standard" user or a domain administrator makes

Can Logon & Join NT4-style Domain, Can't Change Password
Hi All, Our users started having issues late last week when trying to change their passwords. They receive the following message: "The system detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenticated you." Client computers are running Windows 7 Ultimate & Enterprise x64. We are still running (I know, I know) and NT4-style

Thank you for your suggestion, I read the whole discussion. My situation is little bit different - my machine policy works, but it stops working once I remove Apply permission from Authenticated Users and replace it with Read and Apply permission for Domain Computers. Group Policy Results in RSAT shows Reason Denied: Access Denied (Security Filtering) for affected computer. The same result I

I use Tranquil repo: http://samba.tranquil.it/centos7/stable/x86_64/ The whole domain is new, no migration, everything was set up according Samba wiki (which is excellent by the way!) GPO administration right on the station for ordinary user
The Wiki page you pointed to describes a modification to the *Default Domain Policy*. This is probably why you never met the issue I described. As I reported on my previous post, the Default Domain Policy was the only one that kept working after the Microsoft update. All the other GPOs that I had set stopped being applied.
