copy acls with getfacl / setfalc - invalid argument ....
I hav a problem porting my ACLS from my old filserver to a new one...
My old Fileserver:
I have my shares on a partition supporting acls with ext3
/dev/md0 on /data/raid type ext3 (rw,acl,user_xattr)
My new Fileserver:
/dev/md0 on /data/raid type ext4 (rw,acl,user_xattr)
Now I copied all my shares to the new Fileserver with rsync and backed
up my acls with:
getfacl -R

Error accessing the share_info.tdb file
Hello everyone,
I'm preparing a migration from a NT4-mode domain controller 3.5 to version 4.19. The migration process is going well, but from the share management MMC, no matter the share defined in the smb.conf, when I try to access the authorization tab, I get the following message in the Samba logs:
Apr 25 11:39:58 svdom01.voillot205 rpcd_classic[1827]: [2024/04/25 11:39:58.511922, 0]

Missing record in share-info.tdb
I may have a clue.
I have two servers running Samba 3.2.3, one as a Domain Controller one
as a Member Server.
Both are running Ubuntu 8.10. smbd, nmbd and winbindd using the tdb back
end are running on both.
On the Member Server when I access the [Projects] share everything works
as expected. When I access the [Windows] share I get prompted for a user
name and password but no combination

LDAP permissions - ldbedit/ldapmodify?
Hi,
A while ago I successfully set permissions on a section of my LDAP / AD
tree, using either ADUC or ADSIEDIT (I forget which). These permissions
allowed my own user to access this section of the tree; I removed
permissions for 'Domain Admins' etc. to ensure that others would not be
able to view or change the data - this has worked great for many months.
I have just tried to add a new

I have plenty of problems with my shares.
First my env: Samba 4.2.1 on ubuntu 14.04, 2 DC and 1 Domain member (for
the share),Bind 9.9 DLZ for the DNS and winbindd.
When i follow the wiki page about settings home directory (
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/User_home_drives) the file system
permissions are very strange:
In the security Tab:

tdb again (account_policy.tdb group_mapping.tdb passdb.tdb
registry.tdb secrets.tdb share_info.tdb winbindd_idmap.tdb); started
the services and...
