AD Replication issues due to lingering objects
Hai Tom, Sure, you can apt-get install from that repo. You have 3 options. 1) http://apt.van-belle.nl/ the apt repo. Use it like any apt repo. Info on the site. 2) http://downloads.van-belle.nl/samba4/samba-4.5.3/ and use the installer This is when you want to get packages localy in you network and when you want to keep one version, and/or distribute this internaly. The installer script

Remove and re-add bricks/peers
We'll definitely look into upgrading this, but it's a older, legacy system so we need to see what we can do without breaking it. Returning to the re-adding question, what steps do I need to do to clear the config of the failed peers? Do I just wipe the data directory of the volume, or do I need to clear some other config file/folders as well? Tom Op ma 17 jul. 2017 om 16:39 schreef

Samba + spotlight/tracker
I'm currently using the standard Samba 4.5.8 on Debian 9.1, but would like to have spotlight support for Mac users. As far as I can tell, the standard package isn't compiled with spotlight support, so I will need to compile it myself. Is there an easy way to know what the configure string was that was used to compile the packaged version? I simply want to add the --enable-spotlight flag

Remove and re-add bricks/peers
We had some issues with a volume. The volume is a 3 replica volume with 3 gluster 3.5.7 peers. We are now in a situation where only 1 of the 3 nodes is operational. If we restart the node on one of the other nodes, the entire volume becomes unresponsive. After a lot of trial and error, we have come to the conclusion that we do not wan't to try to rejoin the other 2 nodes in the current form.

Remove and re-add bricks/peers
That's the way. However I'd like to highlight that you're running a very old gluster release. We are currently with 3.11 release which is STM and the long term support is with 3.10. You should consider to upgrade to atleast 3.10. On Mon, Jul 17, 2017 at 3:25 PM, Tom Cannaerts - INTRACTO < tom.cannaerts at intracto.com> wrote: > We had some issues with a volume. The volume is

When can I start using a peer that was added to a large volume?
I added a peer to a 50GB replica volume and initial replication seems to go rather slow. It's about 50GB but has a lot of small files and a lot of files in the same folder. What would happen if I try to access a file on the new peer? Will it just fail? Will gluster fetch it sealessly from the replication partner? Or will the file just not be there? Thanks, -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Tom

AD Replication issues due to lingering objects
Do you tnink I can simply apt-get install from that repo to upgrade the current samba? Going down the demote/re-join route, I'm encountering problems demoting the DC: Deactivating inbound replication Asking partner server DC1.mydomain.local to synchronize from us Error while demoting, re-enabling inbound replication ERROR(<class 'samba.drs_utils.drsException'>): Error while

RPC Server unavailable
We have migrated away from a single MS AD to a 2 server Samba AD. We have DC1, which is a samba 4.5 server, and DC2, which is a samba 4.2 server. Everything seems to be working fine, with the exception that I can't connect to DC1 using Windows RSAT, where I can connect to DC2 without any problems. When connecting, an pretty generic error is shown: "The following domaincontroller could

Samba + spotlight/tracker
Hai, I have/can recreate a build with this enable, but these would not make it into my repo. (yet) This is because i can not test the spotlight/tracker ( and/or TimeMachine ) settings. So.. There is the link with samba 4.6.7 builded for debian Jessie with spotlight enabled. Not signed, only amd64 arch. https://downloads.van-belle.nl/samba4/samba-spotlight-enabled.tar.gz Included :

Lingering IPC$ connections
I'm running the latest samba release (2.2.8a), and everything seems to be running fine. Except for something that does not look quite right. Connections to the IPC$ share are being left behind by samba once the user has logged off. And what's even more troubling is that the pid associated with the lingering IPC$ connection is picked up by the next smbd process, and then you have one pid

Lingering status?
Is it expected that MiddleMan.ask_stats will return a status for a worker that has been MiddleMan.delete_worker''ed? The worker isn''t showing up in MiddleMan.query_all_workers, so it seems that is shouldn''t have a status either. Is there a way to define a callback that is called at deletion, to reset the status, or do I need to write my own method to reset the status

messages lingering in .Trash/new instead of .Trash/cur
We're running Dovecot rc15 on Solaris 9, providing IMAP access to e-mail stored in Maildir++. I've noticed that a significant number of message files are currently sitting in the directories ~/Maildir/.Trash/new/. I would have expected that all messages in .Trash would be in the /cur subdirectory (as most are), and I'm not sure how they're landing in /new. If I connect to

Lingering WinXP SP2 issues
After apparently flawed testing, we rolled out SP2 for XP this week as samba seemed to be able to handle printing acceptably in recent versions. Once we rolled it out, we started getting reports of many users receiving the error :A policy is in effect on your computer which prevents you from connecting to this print queue. X32 bugs around "cannot select" lingering around
Hi, There's several, to my eyes, somewhat related looking bugs: Bug 36743 - Cannot select: X86ISD::CALL ICE with -mx32 -O2 -fno-plt https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36743 Bug 34268 - JITting of x32 code on x64 fails with crash or instruction selection error. https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34268 There's unfortunately been no investigation. I'm asking because I hit

Lingering dhclient issue
I recently reconfigured some CentOS 4.3 systems that were using DHCP to use static IP addresses. At the same time, the systems were moved to a new VLAN. Here is the approximate sequence of events that took place: 1. ifdown eth0 2. edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 with static IP address 3. wait for network folks to reconfigure switch 4. ifup eth0 I may have

Tcl/Tk window lingering too long
I want to set up a simple Tk dialog interface to a function in R, such that when the "OK" button is pressed, the dialog window is destroyed and then R does its work on the data/parameters/whatever that were entered in the dialog. The function "test" below is a simple prototype. My problem: upon running test() and hitting "OK", R does its work (ie, computes

Broken IMAPS Connects Create Lingering imap-login Processes
Hello everyone, we are running a central server (CentOS 6.5, dovecot-2.0.9-7.el6 with a small patch to disable the IMAP CREATE command, and openssl-1.0.1e-16.el6_5.7) and distribute standard client software to customer( site)s. Problem Promoting Windows DC into existing Samba 4 domain
Hello, I am working on adding a Windows 2008 R2 DC into an existing Samba 4 domain. The Samba 4 domain has two DCs running Samba 4.2. I was able to successfully run dcpromo on the Windows server and it appears that nearly everything has replicated except for the DomainDnsZones partition. I have completed the steps in this article for the AD NC Replica command and I also turned off Strict
