My Samba 4.5.2 domain also appears to be missing these roles.
Can I simply seize these roles?

Error Demoting DC Windows from Domain
Hi,
I have jointed 2 Samba 4 servers in my domain and transferred FSMO roles to
the primary Samba 4 server.
I have verified that the Samba 4 servers are OK, but I am having trouble
removing the latest DC Windows Server 2008.
It reports that there is no other DC to transfer data from the directory DC
= DomainDNSZones, DC = Enterprise, DC = com, DC = br
However the functions are all on my DC

LDAP_INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_RIGHTS error stops FSMO transfer
Attempting to move FSMO roles from one SerNET Samba 4.5.4 DC to
another, all roles transfered except the DNS related ones - those fail
with an LDAP_INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS_RIGHTS

Magically disappearing errors during FSMO transfer
Recently tried transferring roles from Samba 4.3.11 to Samba 4.7.0. Ultimately,
both dcs agreed that the 4.7.0 dc (dc3) had all the roles and replication and
the databases were in good shape. However, during the process, I got a lot of
errors that seemed to magically disappear.
Should I be worried?

DN lists have different size: 4065 != 4029
Hello,
dc3 = principal DC
dc4 = secondary DC
I had this problem last month after updating samba to version 4.10.x. and
also the schema from 45 to 69. But it looked like it had been corrected.
Today I noticed that on dc4 there are computers that are not on dc3.
I updated:
4.7.x to 4.8.x
4.8.x to 4.9.x and only after that I upgrade to 4.10.x version.
When I run these commands:
samba-tool

Fwd: Re: Problem with Samba4 DB
hi mathias
let me confirm your statement
so.. you think if we demote those 2 DC server that already offline, the
DNS will be running well
well if this is one of option we have, i will consider to upgrade our
FSMO DC from samba 4.1.X to 4.4.x , by the way, are there any
consideration if we update samba directly from 4.1 to 4.4 ?
let me answer some of your question

Transfer the FSMO roles
I've been thinking if it's better to make a new Samba 4 DC server instead
upgrade the old DC and then transfer the FSMO roles to it and shut down the
old server.
This way the installation would be cleaner and free of any errors of the
old installation.
I'm using Samba 4.2.1 and the result of command below is:
root at EMPRESA:~# samba-tool fsmo show

problems with sysvol after fsmo transfer
Thank you so far. But unfortunately I could not fix the problems. So I
decided to start over again at a situation where all the fsmo roles
resides on the old controller.

transfer FSMO roles from Windows DC
I have the Active Directory domain with Windows 2008 R2 domain controller and Samba domain controller on CentOS 7. Samba is 4.3.5 (self-compiled). Forest and domain levels are Windows 2008 R2.
After joining Samba to the domain as the domain controller there were no DC=ForestDnsZones and DC=DomainDnsZones records on "OUTBOUND NEIGHBORS". I fixed it with ntdsutil, as it's written here

DN lists have different size: 4065 != 4029
Hai,
Now, differences is fine, but can you see if one of the 2 servers is correct, and for that it might be handy to share the output.
You can push the good DB to the other DC. ( a forced replication )
And i can understand why you upgrade ...
Did you see :
samba-tool domain schemaupgrade --help
Usage: samba-tool domain schemaupgrade [options]

NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID in a SDC
Hi
Thanks for you answer
1. Sorry It was a mistype: The version is samba_4.3.8+dfsg-1~bpo80+1.
I backported from stretch to jessie as I want to keep my Debian
environment clean.
I do not fancy to compile it from source. I am a bit old fashion :-) :-) :-)
2. I use PDC and SDC as a legacy from previous versions. I Undestand why
it is outdated but actually, even in Samba4, It is kind of true:

Replications errors on 4.5.0 (WERR_BADFILE)
Replication has been running smoothly until I upgraded to 4.5.0. I had
various errors with all BDCs and a force sync didn't resolve it. I
shutdown all BDCs, demoted them with --remove-other-dead-server then
joined new BDCs with new names. At first replication was intermittently
failing (consecutive failures counter kept resetting), but it seemed OK,
just slow if anything. Now they all

Lowest functional level 2000 (4.6.4)
I have a samba dc which i recently upgraded to 4.6.4. I was looking at updating the functional level as it currently returns:
Forest function level: (Windows) 2000
Domain function level: (Windows) 2000
Lowest function level of a DC: (Windows) 2000
There is only a single DC (this host).
According to the documentation 2000 isn’t even supported anymore:
