Samba 4.5.2, 4.5.3, 4.5.4 as secondary DC to Windows 2008 R2
Dear All,
I am running a two location SOHO network with a Microsoft AD on a Windows 2008 R2 server. The only secondary DC is a Microsoft HyperV VM running on the same Windows machine. My aim is to become more independent from Microsoft products. Nevertheless, I need to upgrade my server to Windows 2016 sometime soon - which does not mean that the DC level needs to be upgraded to Server 2016

Fileserver upgraded from 4.1.17 to 4.2 dosen't authenticate users
Hi,
I thought Samba4 was able to do everything what was doing Samba3.
According to that isn't it possible for you to add a new DC into your NT4
domain which runs Samba4? As it is a DC in addition to others DC (those
running Samba3) your domain should continue to work as it did for years.
You would just get another DC running more recent Samba.
I expect that Samba4 as filesrv is able to

AD DC Corrupt recycle bin in redirected folders
Hi everyone,
First off, I really don't know what to provide so please just ask what is
needed. Here's what I think is relevant starting with a brief description:
I have samba4 as AD DC for windows 10 clients. Roaming profiles are on a
share on the DC and are working perfectly. However, redirected folder, also
residing on the DC are not working as expected. I have yet to put my finger

cifs mount of share fails
Hello,
i have two Samba 4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u3 Dabian 8.2 servers, connected to a
2008 R2 AD over krb5/sssd.
Both servers have an identical configuration and are joined to the domain.
The shares on these two servers are perfectly accessible form any of my
windows clients.
But i cannot mount the shares from one of the servers over mount -t cifs.

Samba 3.6 member server auth problems after DC upgrade 2012 R2 -> 2019
I will take your suggestion.
Still, Samba 3.6 appears to support SMBv2 just fine.
Windows 10 PC's and Windows 2019 Servers are able to connect as a
client, with SMBv1 disabled.
As long as there's a Windows 2012 R2 server doing the backend
authentication.

libsmbclient conflict problem
Hi,
I have a c-6 machine that I noticed the following on:
(bugs pts10) # package-cleanup --problems
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities, refresh-packagekit
Package system-config-printer-libs-1.1.16-26.el6.x86_64 requires libsmbclient.so.0()(64bit)
Package kdebase-runtime-libs-4.3.4-9.el6.x86_64 requires libsmbclient.so.0()(64bit)
So then I ran:
(bugs pts10) # yum install libsmbclient
