Files get created as BUILTIN\administrators
Hai Dirk, Your os is? And this happens on what share? I'm guessing sysvol, since this is a default sysvol right. Its also handy to provide a saniticed smb.conf that helps. And last, what does : getfact testfile_or_folder show as right? For example, all my user homedirs show : drwxrwx---+ 13 root root 4096 Apr 11 2016 testuser but the windows acl is used in the background. So

I guess I should stop here. But please don't forget to send a patch to Andreas Gruenbacher, the setfacl man page author since he states ? This utility sets Access Control Lists (ACLs) of files

Persmissions on 'root' folder
Hi, I'd like to accomplish te following but can't seem to find how: Share1 subdir1 subdir2 Share 1 that is connected by our Windows clients, should NOT be writable directly. This means, nobody (except a specified group/user?) should be able to create a top-level folder or file in this share. Write and execute rights through the subdir1 and subdir2 should however be left alone and

Caller ID with BT CD50
Hi All, Having searched the archives, I can see there has been much discussion at various points regarding capture of caller id information from good old BT. If I understand correctly, it seems that not only do the drivers not currently support it, but my X101P possibly/probably can't do it anyway due to hardware? So, that leaves me with the modem route, which seems more and more unlikely,

Error Code 12
Hi I am new to this list - hello all. I think I might be re asking a well trodden question but here goes.... I have cygwin set up on a Windows XP box and intend to use rsync (version 2.6.3) as a client to push a bunch of file to a debain (Sarge) server. The Debain server runs a rsync daemon (version 2.6.4). I have set up the system to use a secrets file at both ends. When I try to my files from

Matching Caller ID against a database of knowncallers
Hi, I use a simple script to query a 2 table's in a MySQL database. This is called using AGI. The first one has got about 200 rows in it each one is a caller ID number and a name. If I get a match then I set CLI to "name <number>" The second table has over 10,000 rows in it. It has all the telephone exchanges in the UK in it with the prefixes for the exchange. If I

Cisco 7960 & v7.4
I have recently upgraded my firmware from v6.3 to v7.4. Now when the phone is booted or rebooted, the initial screen "Initializing Vlan" takes forever to initialize before it initializes IP. Any ideas/Thoughts? (Trying not to Revert back to v6.3). -C -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

winbindd crashing -- how to auto-heal?
Hi folks, Every couple days any one of my project's 10 or so RHEL VMs can't be logged into with a domain account (active directory integration). Our admin goes in with a local account and restarts winbind to fix it. I'd like to be more proactive and, say, create a cron job to detect a problem and then restart winbind. Does anybody have a recipe for this? If not, do you have any

Weird permissions issues with samba shares and XFS
Hi, We are trying to deploy samba sharing on Centos 7.4, linked to windows 2016 AD for authentication. We are having an issue related to permissions where different directories with seemingly the exact same permissions cannot all be accessed from smbclient. I was hoping somebody could help me figuring this out. We have the following structure: 1. one LVM2 volume on /dev/storage/test (XFS)

Rsync problem
Hey All, I am running rsync version 2.5.5 protocol version 26 on my remote machine (Redhat 8 def. install) and rsync version 2.5.6 protocol version 26 on my local machine (Redhat 7.2, 2.4.17 kernel instead of Redhat one with acl patches). I can copy files between these two machines (using ssh/scp) fine. When i run the command: rsync -rptz --delete --stats --include="*.ini"

auto voice msg from text?
Has anyone attempted to translate short text messages into to audio file (or something like that), and send the result to a predetermined pbx/cell number via asterisk? I'm thinking in terms of an external application (something like an app that watches syslog messages) initiating a system support call to the individual responsible for whatever system generated that syslog msg, with some sort

UK (British Telecom) Caller ID again
I've followed the recent thread on caller id with UK British Telecom networks (where the caller id data is delivered before the first ring). My understanding is that if I use a recent CVS head (e.g. CVS-HEAD-09/18/04-17:45:52) and a TDM400 with FXO modules, all I need to do is include the line: usecallerid=uk In my zapata.conf (in the [channels] section) I've done this, but I get: Sep
