How can I setup a Domain Controller and File Server on the same hardware
I understand from the wiki that I shouldn't have the domain controller also
be the file server.
Is it possible to to setup the domain controller in a chroot and have the
file server run under regular root?
Would it be better to setup a VM for the domain controller and have file
server run on the main OS or vice-versa?
Regards,
John

About OpenMP dialect in MLIR
Hi,
I have few questions / concerns regarding the design of OpenMP dialect in
MLIR that is currently being implemented, mainly for the f18 compiler.
Below, I summarize the current state of various efforts in clang / f18 /
MLIR / LLVM regarding this. Feel free to add to the list in case I have
missed something.
1. [May 2019] An OpenMPIRBuilder in LLVM was proposed for flang and clang
frontends.

slow samba
I have a samba version 3.024 server joined to a ADS as a "Workstation or
server" acting as a file/print server. It is a Debian 4.0 amd64 up to date
with stable. ftp works just fine so not network, must be samba config.

About OpenMP dialect in MLIR
Thanks for the reply!
It sounds like LLVM IR is being considered for optimizations in OpenMP
constructs. There seems to be plans regarding improvement of LLVM IR
Framework for providing things required for OpenMP / flang(?)
Are there any design considerations which contain pros and cons about using
the MLIR vs LLVM IR for various OpenMP related optimizations/
transformations?

Is FSCTL_VALIDATE_NEGOTIATE_INFO mandatory in samba-4.4 & onwards
Hello,
I was reading about secure Dialect negotiation to prevent man-in-middle
to downgrade dialects & capabilities.
_https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/openspecification/2012/06/28/smb3-secure-dialect-negotiation/_
I wanted to ask, is there any option to disable SMB2 to do dialect
renegotiation as present in Windows8 clients, as they can control using
RequireSecureNegotiate.

Bug 12518 - smbclient -c 'cd <dir>; ls' for DFS generates STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
I'm wondering if anyone else has any feedback on this or needs anymore info ?

smbclient 4.0.7 fails transfer with STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER and SMB2 but not with NT1
We get STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER failures when smbclient uses SMB2 but passes with NT1. We do get some success, but mostly failures. It appears to happen after it transfers the PDF file.
These are the packets leading up to SMB2 failing after the transfer:

Bug 12518 - smbclient -c 'cd <dir>; ls' for DFS generates STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
I am wondering if anyone has had a chance to look at bug 12518? This is the context of the message:
Wireshark trace gives a STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER when running smbclient -c 'cd <dir>;ls' as a standalone program. This is a customer issue. We cannot recreate this issue so we're looking for why this may be happening. From the trace you'll see multiple sessions with

Can you provide the output of the failing command with full debug messages (-d10)?

Bug 12518 - smbclient -c 'cd <dir>; ls' for DFS generates STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER
This issue is reproducible for this customer and a couple of others. We execute the smbclient command the same way for each instance. The null user name is valid syntax sent from the smbclient. When we send the command " smbclient -c 'cd <dir>; ls' ", samba code executes starting with Negotiate Protocol Request, and onward. I'm guessing this could be a DFS issue, but

Samba Transaction Implementation
Hi,
I am enhancing the Samba Server on our product (VxWorks on the box) to
support Long Name. So I started implementing the dialect "LM1.2X002" (first
dialects that support Long Name, the current dialect that we support is PC
Network Program). I have implemented the Negotiation, Tree Connect AndX and
Open AndX command.
When I try access the shared drive of our product, after the

Google’s TensorFlow team would like to contribute MLIR to the LLVM Foundation
Overall, I think it will be a good move.
Maintenance wise, I'm expecting the existing community to move into
LLVM (if not all in already), so I don't foresee any additional costs.
Though, Hal's points are spot on...
