Can't join Windows 10 to classic domain
I've been running Samba 4 in NT4 Domain mode for a few years, and it's been working fine with Windows 7 PCs. I now need to join a new Windows 10 PC to the domain, but I'm not having any success! When I try to join the domain, the Windows 10 PC says "An Active Directory Domain Controller could not be contacted...." I've tried a few things, including:- Setting

Can't join Windows 10 to classic domain
The issue does not seem to be connected to SMB1. It can be installed and it still won't authenticate. Something has been changed to force authentication to AD/DNS either solely or as a first step. The translation of the netbios name never happens even if the computer can resolve the name. Given that the authentication thru netbios resolution seems to get grandfathered in provided the domain

Samba on Debian 8
Just a general question ahead: I have various issues with Samba-4.2.10 on Debian 8.6 (in combination with NT4-based domain and Win10pro-clients). I assume later samba-releases would help around these issues so I wonder if there are any more recent packages available anywhere. I would like to avoid compiling samba on my own, not because I am not able to do that but in terms of lower maintenance

SMBx differences re Win10 in Samba4 NT4 DC
Given an existing NT4 Samba 4 DC, a recently upgraded Win10 machine can no longer access NETLOGON to authenticate to the network. This lead to the research revealing that my Samba4 PDC SMB.CONF must be changed to limit MAX PROTOCOL = NT1 to avoid negotiating a version of SMB2 from Win10 that Samba4 can't resolve. Doing this broke authentication via other resources that no longer support NT1,

kvm/libvirt on CentOS7 w/Windows 10 Pro guest
Hey all, New to list, so I apologize if this has been asked a bunch already...  Is there something I'm missing with Windows 10 as a guest that keeps Windows Updates from nuking the boot process? I just did an orderly shutdown and windows updated itself <I forgot to disable in time> only to reboot to the diagnostics screen which couldn't repair. going to command prompt and doing

Windows 10 SysVol and GPO problems
Hi, Thanks for reading. I have recently started to try and get Windows 10 machines working with our Samba 4.3.3 domain controller and have run into a few issues with gpupdate /force The error given by Windows is “The processing of group policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\domain.com.au <smb://domain.com.au>” etc. Its interesting because access is denied with the file path

Azure Sync
Sorry if I didn't find the right manual. I would like to set up a new Domain Controller and connect it to an existing Office 365 with Exchange in a way, AD-Users of a certain group can login and not having to login to Office365. My questions: Can I map the existing Office365-Accounts to the new Domain? Is the existing username scheme in Office 365 of lois.griffin at company.com compatible

[External] Re: ctrl -c while executing --progress --size-only --partial results in unhidden but incomplete file
Rsync has no memory of what other instances of rsync have done in the past. An existing file with a different name is of no interest to it unless --delete in which case it would be deleted. Maybe what you really want is --partial-dir? On 6/7/23 16:17, Lacey, Nathan wrote: > I'm suggesting a partial file that isn't hidden is worse. > Because any other app looking at the file

azure ad connect timeout
Hi, we use "Azure AD connect" to sync users from the samba-AD to office365. The synchronization worked fine for about 2 years. Now I get an error when I start a full import: stopped-connectivity - failed-search - timeout - Errorcode: 0x55 I'm not sure if it has happened since upgrading from 4.10.5 to 4.12.6 or if it is due to the increased amount of users. I have to do a
