Has anyone found a workaround for Samba print servers? https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/030ee94a-047d-460a-bc39-52351a199364/kb31639 12-breaks-point-and-print-restrictions-gpo-settings If I set the GPOs as stated on the WIKI (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Automatic _Printer_Driver_Downloads_for_Windows_Clients) Windows 10 refuses to install the driver with "a

Can Logon & Join NT4-style Domain, Can't Change Password
Hi All, Our users started having issues late last week when trying to change their passwords. They receive the following message: "The system detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure that you can contact the server that authenticated you." Client computers are running Windows 7 Ultimate & Enterprise x64. We are still running (I know, I know) and NT4-style

Thank you for your suggestion, I read the whole discussion. My situation is little bit different - my machine policy works, but it stops working once I remove Apply permission from Authenticated Users and replace it with Read and Apply permission for Domain Computers. Group Policy Results in RSAT shows Reason Denied: Access Denied (Security Filtering) for affected computer. The same result I

Building a view for a 3 model has_many relationship
I''m working with three models: - Charge. has_many :budget_plans - BudgetPlan. belongs_to :charges, :rollups - Rollup. has_many :budget_plans This works out perfectly. A budget plan contains the ID of a charge and rollup and then there''s a 3rd attribute for hours. So working with data is no problem. My budget plan scaffold works nicely so I can select a charge, select a

Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4
Hello. Anyone else experiencing Problems with this update ? We do have W2k AD. And Samba Member-Server. This is done via Winbind without using Kerberos. After installing the Update to our AD-Servers. It seems that winbind lost its connectivity. wbinfo -t worked. wbinfo -u showed errors. After removing the update from all our servers, winbind works again. Should I move our configuration to

GPO administration right on the station for ordinary user
The Wiki page you pointed to describes a modification to the *Default Domain Policy*. This is probably why you never met the issue I described. As I reported on my previous post, the Default Domain Policy was the only one that kept working after the Microsoft update. All the other GPOs that I had set stopped being applied.

Samba DC + VDI Microsoft
Good afternoon people, I don't know if you can help me, I set up a Lab and I'm testing the creation of VDIs using a dc samba, that's the scenario. 1) Samba domain controller 4.13 2) Windows 2019 server as a member of the domain, in it I installed hyper-v and in it I configured the remote desktop service. I set up the template and when I create the pool I take the following error.

Access denied, and other problems, trying to administer printers
Hi all. We are running Samba 4.4.10 as an NT-domain server on Solaris 10. The server is also used to store printer preferences and drivers. We are using LDAP as the passdb backend. Now we need to change some printing preferences and change one printer driver, however I can not do any of those things any more (last time I did it we was running Samba 3.x...). When I log in to a Win 7 computer as

Access denied, and other problems, trying to administer printers
Hi, Today I finally got time to do some more testing. I set up a Windows 10 machine but got the same problem (just wanted to make sure...). I will do more testing tomorrow but I have a question about an error I'm seeing in the logs. Do You know what "access DENIED for non-printserver bits" (log level 3) means? GPOs: only Default Domain Policy is being applied, ohers are ignored
I recently discovered that only the Default Domain Policy is being applied. All other GPOs seem to be ignored. All Sysvol filesystem objects have the right permissions. Both DCs are running Samba 4.4.3 over CentOS 7. There are no related errors in logs or Windows Event Viewer. Other policies did work before. I noticed that the corresponding filesystem objects were lastly placed on users’ desktops
