samba 4.12.2: WERR_DNS_ERROR_DS_UNAVAILABLE, unable to manage samba DNS
Hi, I restored the last backup with the 4.11.6 setup. This is working fine and i can confirm that my AD is set up with a single forwarding zone, there is no _msdsc zone. On this 4.11.6 setup also the Windows DNS Tool does not complain. When upgrading to 4.12.2 DNS administration fails again with WERR_DNS_ERROR_DS_UNAVAILABLE. I will try the steps described in the MS document? and come back

samba 4.12.2: WERR_DNS_ERROR_DS_UNAVAILABLE, unable to manage samba DNS
G'Day Olaf, If this was working before, then it would be this bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14310 I'm a bit swamped right now, per Microsoft the correct fix is for our DNS Management server to ignore these values. Can you see if your error looks like this in the server logs? Andrew Bartlett On Wed, 2020-04-29 at 18:53 +0200, Olaf Dreyer via samba wrote: > Well,

samba 4.8 with bind - bugged dns entry in reverse lookup zone
Thank You for the prompt reply. By "sam.ldb" you mean the samba/bind-dns/dns/sam.ldb right? After executing: ldbsearch --cross-ncs -H /path/to/samba/bind-dns/dns/sam.ldb '(name=49)' I do find same records, as with previous search including the one I need to delete as it is bugged. It's dn is:

Dynamic dns updates fail for (most) xp, vista and win7 clients
Hi Lucas ? Thanks, but the time is in sync on all clients and is updated on login by a login script. There's is no discrepancy in this regard between those clients that work and those that don't. :) ? Invalid data for index DN=@INDEX:OBJECTCLASS:DNSNODE
We have a Samba primary domain controller "empire", which seems to have DNS update issues. We can seem to query all records on empire just fine, and we can modify IPs for existing records, but it will not delete or add new records. Attempting to delete via the AD tools shows "Local security authority database contains an internal inconsistency". Adding a record on the command

Copying SIP Subscriptions
I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but... Is there a way to copy/transfer/replicate sip subscriptions from one asterisk system to another, for the purposes of HA? You coudln't even write a script to do it I don't think. You can do an 'asterisk -rx sip show subscriptions' but there'd be no way to repopulate it on a second system. Yes/No? Doug.

is dovecot vulnerable to this kind of attack?
I found an interesting email that got caught in my spam quarantine. I?m wondering if dovecot is vulnerable to this kind of code execution (I?m aware that other components could be vulnerable, but this question is specifically targeting dovecot). The idea is to insert shell commands into various header fields that would get executed as part of the message processing/delivery. Examples include:
