win 10 login - Not enough storage is available to process this command
hi everyone I've had a Win 10 Pro client to a non-AD samba fine for a long time. Suddenly I could not logon new user(which had not logged in on that Win box before). I was lazy, I remember that quickest thing that worked once in the past was remove & re-add client, you know, in Windows itself, to the domain. Now I cannot login any user at all at that Win box(even though the box was

I have an NT domain on Debian Stretch. It's been upgraded numerous times, but has been running for almost a decade. Since upgrading from 4.1.17 to 4.3.3 (huge Debian jump), then to 4.3.6, clients cannot connect to shares. Prior to upgrading, I found the changes mentioned for 4.2 regarding NT domains and applied them. Even so, I still cannot connect to network shares nor print to

You may have included this in another email however I will ask anyway, did you set DNS to your server in the Linux and Windows clients? Can you check if a Windows Server can join? Can you use DNS management to check the DNS on you samba server? On Mar 28, 2016 2:15 PM, "Dale Schroeder" <dale at briannassaladdressing.com> wrote: > No takers thus far. These are the Samba 4.2

Public Share on Samba with ADS security
Hello, list; This is my second try asking for help. One person responded and provided help, but I still can't seem to work this out. I've searched, but have failed. I'm not new to Samba, but I can and do make mistakes...so here I am. I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 13.10 with Samba 3.6.18. I have Kerberos properly configured and have successfully joined the domain, and can list

User is invalid on this system
Hello all. We are running Samba 3.6.6 on a Debian 6.0.6 server. We made the upgrade from 3.6.5 to 3.6.5 about a week ago and ever since we have lost the ability to map Samba shares from our Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 clients: Here's an example from my workstation (logging verbosity set at 10): [2012/11/29 15:23:58.120087, 3] smbd/process.c:1467(switch_message) switch message

mount cifs
Hi, I updated our servers to 4.2.11, and I have a problem, but I'm not sure if the problem is related to the update. I am trying to use mount.cifs: > mount -t cifs -o username=username,password=super_secret,domain=WRKGRP //ip.of.our.samba/share /mnt > mount error(112): Host is down > Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) Host is up, i can use smbclient to

Mounting Linux Samba Shares on Windows when Active Directory Server is down
Hi, I am running Samba 3.6.19 and making my way through all the Active Directory documentation. I have joined various Linux boxes to a Windows Server 2008 R2 Active Directory domain. Windows 7 users who log on with their domain accounts can mount the correct shares exported by the Linux boxes without having to supply any additional credentials. All working perfectly! However, I have a

Unable to open a particular share.
Hello everybody, we have a strange behaviour since a BDC was rebooted. We have an infrastructure were one big Samba server is defined as a PDC, and a few others servers are defined as BDC. This infrastructure is deployed in a school, so we have the PDC and one BDC for each section of the school (college, elementary school ...). Most of the clients computers are Windows XP, and the servers

Member server only shares locally
Hello In 2 different subnets I have setup 2 identical samba servers (RH 6.5) as fileservers for windows clients. Each is a member of it's own AD Domain (Windows 2003 Servers). The problem: one of them only is accessible and sharing locally. On the windows-client, trying to mount a share gives this error: C:\Users\testuser>net use y: \\samba_server\topfolder /user:testuser System

win 10 login - Not enough storage is available to process this command
Is this one computer causing issues, or more than one? When logged in to the computer, what do you see in the Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) relating to the time of your login? Are you using Samba in NT mode or AD mode? Can you run a command as an AD user (for example, click on Start, press Shift as you right-click on an application and choose "Run as other user...", and enter a domain

Planning to buy a new colour MFD or a Mono MFD & a Colour printer, for small buisiness office use. Could someone give feedback on HP Laserjet MFD M3027x and Laserjet 2840? Do all functions provided by the printers work on Linux? Any kinks? Do

Yes please for the notes. I re-ran the tests without the smbldap-tools. I installed phpldapadmin and am able to login to the apache page using the cn=admin, dn=mydomain and create entries. This kind of tells me that LDAP is working Then I run the pdbedit -Lv and it lists all the users. The following happens when I add the LDAP bits to smb.conf and restart samba. The issue seems to be with samba

No takers thus far. These are the Samba 4.2 changes to which I previously referred (https://www.samba.org/samba/history/samba-4.2.0.html) : For the client side we have the following new options: "require strong key" (yes by default), "reject md5 servers" (no by default). E.g. for Samba 3.0.37 you need "require strong key = no" and for NT4 DCs
