LDB object number limitations
Hi list,
here is a Samba4 AD with LDB.
Is there any limit for number of possible objects? I mean users, computers,
and other kind of nodes.
On a Samba Wiki page, the doc notes:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/LDB#How_LDB_uses_TDB
"How LDB uses TDB
LDB basically sits on top of TDB and manipulates the data into an LDAP-like
structure."
And I've found a doc here:

Technical questions on AD and NT4
Could someone show me differences in both groups and users between a full NT4 LDAP schema and a full ActiveDirectory LDAP schema?
Is ActiveDirectory fully retrocompatible with NT4?
There are plans for supporting again an OpenLDAP backend when LDAPcon objectives will be achieved?

dovecot.org not resolving!
I had to bypass my unknown sender/recipient domain restrictions to
receive list mail and send this. It's hard to say without a whois
server for .fi, but it appears that the problem might be with the
procontrol.fi. domain.
Action to fix the problem is needed ASAP! I've emailed Timo offlist;
also tried to get him in IRC.

with today's source (15 february 2010)
(latest commit: 6ec6fa0ac4e71f9b14a3cbfef328d50e321b0544)
./configure --enable-developer worked as well as make && make install.
Provision fails:
./setup/provision --realm=unimore.it --ldapadminpass=atmlite

The source was checked out around 12/30/2009 ~16:00 GMT following the

Apache warns Web server admins of DoS attack tool
Anyone have any idea how soon RHEL and CentOS will be releasing the patch
package?
Excerpt:
Computerworld - Developers of the Apache open-source project today
warned users of the popular Web server software that a denial-of-service
(DoS) tool is circulating that exploits a bug in the program.
The tool, called "Apache Killer," showed up last Friday in a post to the

samba4 + openldap: provisioning isnt working
Wiki seems to be out of date here. The wiki reference's [1] [2] a "setup/provision-backend"
script, as well as a "setup/provision" script, yet current git only has a setup/provision
executable. Some #samba and #openldap IRC advice was that provision-backend wasnt needed
anymore, but based off the errors i'm seeing, there's definitely _something_ missing, I just

Starting slapd: /bin/bash: /tmp/start-slapd.K12378: Permission denied
Hi,
I'm running Centos 5, with openldap Version: 2.3.27 Release: 8.el5_2.4.
When I run:
$ sudo /etc/init.d/ldap start
I get the following error:
Starting slapd: /bin/bash: /tmp/start-slapd.l14891: Permission denied
(obviously the temp file number changes every time).
It appears to be a permission problem but I thought I did everything to set
up the permissions correctly...

More specifically, I bought the case, the motherboard,
the CPU, the RAM and the graphics card from
another poster for the price of postage.
