Samba DC sync issues - help
Help, my Samba DC's refuse to sync :-( I have 2 Samba 4.1.17 DC servers. I made some changes via Active Directory USer and Computers on Windows. However even after a weekend the changes do not appear on the second DC. If I run samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://dc1 ldap://dc2 -Uadministrator --filter=msDS-NcType,serverState,subrefs I see:

Replication failures
Hai Mason,   I had a look at the debug output.   on 1) why around 15-16 second, that i really dont know. im trying to figure that out. on 2) if DNS is inconsistance, that everything is unrelayable. This is really the first the that needs fixing. then we look again at the replication.   The debug output still shows several messages about zones in flat files. I still do believe also that this

4.2.2 as AD with 2 DCs: database incoherency
Hi all, I'm having a test AD domain composed with 2 DC, using Sernet's version of Samba 4.2.2. These two DC are Centos 6.6 (dc20) and Debian 7.8 (dc00). These two are using TDB as a backend (as we have no other choice at this stage of Samba's development). *dc20*:~# ldbsearch -H $sam '(objectclass=group)' dn | tail -3 # returned 27392 records # *27389* entries # 3 referrals

Separate ISC-DHCP server updating BIND DNS
I am attempting to set up a separate ISC-DHCP server to administer IP addresses for a new subnet and dynamically update the main BIND9 DNS server on DC1. I'm using the guide linked below but it appears to be for installing the DHCP server directly on the domain controller. Is there any documentation available for updating BIND9 from a completely separate machine with ISC-DHCP installed? It

Samab DC's not syncing
Hi, I am running a Windows Domain based on 2 Samba AD servers. The setup is running mostly fine but I have the impression that the 2 DC's are not syncing their information. For instance: - I added a Windows pc to the domain last week, when I started 'Active directory users and computers' today on a windows pc I could not see that pc, after rebooting one of the DC's the pc

dsdb_access Access check failed on CN=Configuration
All- I've got 3 DCs (version 4.9.6-12) that, prior to today, were running without issue (as best I could tell). Every night I run a few commands to monitor the status of the DCs/domain. Problem Groups GID Mappings
Dear, I have 2 DC's Samba4.4.5. I realize that there is a difference in mapping groups gid mappings. The /etc/nsswitch.conf are equal in DC's. I found difference in the smb.conf of DC's. The DC2 shows the name of winbind groups. The DC1 shows only the uid of the group / user. Could someone give me a hint? Smb.conf file DC1 [global] interfaces = lo eth0 netbios name = SRV14

One DC cannot authenticate off of another DC
Thank you, Louis, for your reply. By simply asking me to provide outputs of the aforementioned files, I found the cause of my first problem (auth failing). It was my /etc/hosts file on dc1. All of them should look like this, and indeed DC2 and DC3's *did* look like this: # cat /etc/hosts > 127.0.0.1 ? ? ? localhost.samdom.mycompany.net ?localhost > 192.168.3.201

One DC cannot authenticate off of another DC
Hello Samba Friends, I have a single DC (we'll call it, "DC1") that simply will not take my password when I run this command:? #samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://dc2 ldap://dc3 -Uadministrator? Or this command:? #samba-tool ldapcmp ldap://dc1 ldap://dc2 -Uadministrator? I basically get this:? > Password for [SAMDOM\administrator]:? > Password for [SAMDOM\administrator]:?
