File Server member DC ACL permissions
Dear Rowland, This Samba 4 domain was not provisioned from scratch. Here in the company we had a DC Windows 2008. The Samba was provided to secondary DC. Then, the primary DC remains Windows, but will be removed this weekend. Samba DC will be the primary DC. In the file server file krb5.conf, I informed the KDC servers pointing to the Samba DC. Follows the smb.conf my DC Samba 4: # Global

File Server member DC ACL permissions
Greetings, Previously I had set up a file server with DC on the same machine. As recommendations, created another machine to be the file server. I made the settings as far as I could do, but I can not give permissions on shared folders. Must give permissions on shared folders for groups and users of the domain. I'm using Samba 4.4.5 in DC's and also the file server. I joined the file

Yes, I performed tests on both DC's. 2 DC's working normally. The sysvolreset works in both DC's after I disabled full_audit. The gpupdate / force works perfectly. And also through the RSAT, I do not get more permission error when I edit any GPO. If this is a bug, who can inform / report? What I find strange in DC's, is when I view the sysvol permissions. The DC2 appears the

I will choose to use the winbind. Based on the link that Rowland said: https://wiki.samba.org /index.php/Setup_Samba_as_an_AD_Domain_Member I followed the steps as described in the tutorial. I created symlinks. In the main DC I added this line in smb.conf: idmap_ldb: use RFC2307 = yes Changed /etc/nsswitch.conf passwd: files winbind shadow: files group: files winbind hosts:

Computer accounts belonging to groups, using winbind on file server
Hi All, Some time ago I reluctantly moved DC functionality off my file server and onto a separate machine, due to the well-known challenges using the same machine as both a file server and a DC. This went mostly fine, with one exception - I have one piece of functionality that worked before, but I still don't have working now. I use wpkg for software distribution, having all relevant

Desktop.ini hiddeln file creates during compilaiton
Make a reproducible example [1][2][3], because it doesn't happen for me. Then post your example at [4] or [5], because this is the wrong list for this question. You may find that the act of browsing the directory using a GUI is what creates that file rather than the compilation itself.
