net ads join fails
Hi, i've got a problem joining a domain with samba 4.1.17 on freebsd. Everytime I try it, the join fails with a core dump. Debugging it, it seems that it is stuck on authentication. Kerberos works, I get credentials, but if I try to join the domain, it fails. The problem seems to be somwhere in this debug-output: 1. net ads join: Doing spnego session setup (blob length=96) got

DHCP-DNS problems
Hello there. So, I have a Samba AD setup, with DHCP and samba_dlz setup as described in the wiki. However, I find that after a while, dynamic DHCPD updates stop working. The fix is for me to restart the named server. When in this state, I get log messages like: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.52.232 (192.168.60.2) from 8c:be:be:0d:cf:3c (RedmiNote4-Gj?gur) via 192.168.52.253 Dec 18 15:39:44 dc02

dnsupdate_nameupdate_done - Failed DNS update
Thank you Denis and Rowland - I didn't realise this was the script, makes sense now. I've run it (on dc2) and it gets as far as: need update: SRV _ldap._tcp.mysite._sites.ForestDnsZones.mydomain.org.uk dc2.mydomain.org.uk 389 [lots of updates needed] 10 DNS updates and 0 DNS deletes needed Successfully obtained Kerberos ticket to DNS/dc1.mydomain.org.uk as DC2$ and then it fails here:

AD, multiple DC, some DC without DNS at all
Hi all, Thank you Mark for these precisions. I did switch a DC to --dns-backend=NONE using samba-tool domain join. This removed dns-<DCname> user for this DC and associated keytab. We changed /etc/resolv.conf to use another DC - one with Bind running - as nameserver. Stopping there, running samba_dnsupdate gave error "NOTAUTH". As we want our DC being able to push into DNS

Workstation AD members failing DNS updates - and worse!
Greetings, everyone. I have Samba 4.4.5, built from source on CentOS 6.8 using Bind 9.8.2 and configured in the last couple months. It’s in place and functioning, but I’m having a few issues I’m trying to iron out. First, the workstations added to the AD domain are not able to make DNS updates if the IP address changes after the domain join. However, at the time of the AD join, the DNS entries
