Hi, i've got a problem joining a domain with samba 4.1.17 on freebsd. Everytime I try it, the join fails with a core dump. Debugging it, it seems that it is stuck on authentication. Hello there. So, I have a Samba AD setup, with DHCP and samba_dlz setup as described in the wiki. However, I find that after a while, dynamic DHCPD updates stop working. The fix is for me to restart the named server. DC1 : namserver DC2 then DC1. DC2:? namserver DC1 then DC2. ? stopped samba on both servers. upgraded the packages on both servers. ? started samba on DC1 ( the one with fsmo roles ) waited 5 min.

Hi all, Thank you Mark for these precisions. I did switch a DC to --dns-backend=NONE using samba-tool domain join. This removed dns-<DCname> user for this DC and associated keytab. We changed /etc/resolv.conf to use another DC - one with Bind running - as nameserver. Stopping there, running samba_dnsupdate gave error "NOTAUTH". As we want our DC being able to push into DNS
