Samba 3.0.33 joining Samba 4 domain
Hello, I am testing Samba 4's active directory with the latest master copy. I have joined a Windows 7 desktop to it fine without any issues. From Windows 7, I can browse to the AD controller IP address in Windows and see the standard Active Directory shares. I attempted to join Samba 3.0.33 (CentOS 5.8) to Samba 4's active directory, and the join worked as expected. I can browse to

Winbind + Win2003 ADS + Trusted Domain Issue
Hello all, I am having an issue that I need help with and have been searching the web high and low for a solution. It involvs using winbind to authenticate Linux systems against a 2003 Active Directiry domain with a one-way trust. Here is the lay out. Degraded performance when using GRE over tinc
Hi, In a setup where OpenVSwitch is used with GRE tunels on top of an interface provided by tinc, I'm experiencing significant performance degradation problems (from 100Mb/s down to 1Mb/s in the worst case) and I'm not sure how to fix this. The manifestation of the problem is, from the user point of view, iperf reports ~100Mb/s and rsync reports ~1Mb/s: $ iperf -c 91.224.149.132

degraded performance with rank()
Hi. I'm maintaining a package that creates an object that is essentially a classed version of numeric. I updated recently from 2.7.1 to 2.9.0, and merges involving my class suddenly took a huge performance hit. I've traced the problem to something near rank(). From NEWS, it seems rank() etc. changed in 2.8.0. Methods for xtfrm() are supposed to help, but I've had no success. There

Problems with samba shares locking in w2k ADS environment.
Greetings, I have a Gentoo Linux machine running samba 3.0.7-r2 It's a member of a win2k ADS domain...all that seems to be working fine. Problem: When I share a directory on the Samba machine ADS members can see it, browse it, and even create directories and small text files. However, if I try to drop anything large or binary, it lock up the win2k client for about 2 minutes then resets.

degraded performance under domain login load
Hi guys, Not sure how to diagnose this problem however i have recently upgraded one of my schools sites from gentoo to freebsd which moved us from samba 3.0.14 to 3.0.21b and the first thing I noticed was when the students came to login if they all logged in at once the performance of login was crippled to a near standstill! As a test i swapped in the gentoo box and forced the upgrade to

grDevices::convertColor and colorRamp(space='Lab') Performance Improvements
`grDevices::convertColor` performance can be improved by 30-300x with small changes to the code. `colorRamp(space='Lab')` uses `convertColor` so it too benefits from substantial performance gains. `convertColor` vectorizes explicitly over the rows of the input color matrix using `apply`. The level-1 patch [1] illustrates a possible minimal set of changes to achieve this with just R

[PATCH v2 1/3] appliance: init: Avoid running degraded md devices
The issue: - raid1 will be in degraded state if one of its components is logical volume (LV) - raid0 will be inoperable at all (inacessible from within appliance) if one of its component is LV - raidN: you can expect the same issue for any raid level depends on how many components are inaccessible at the time mdadm is running and raid redundency. It happens because mdadm is launched prior to lvm

ZFS RAID-Z2 degraded vs RAID-Z1
Had an idea, could someone please tell me why it''s wrong? (I feel like it has to be). A RaidZ-2 pool with one missing disk offers the same failure resilience as a healthy RaidZ1 pool (no data loss when one disk fails). I had initially wanted to do single parity raidz pool (5disk), but after a recent scare decided raidz2 was the way to go. With the help of a sparse file

Is the error threshold for a degraded device configurable?
I look after an x4500 for a client and wee keep getting drives marked as degraded with just over 20 checksum errors. Most of these errors appear to be driver or hardware related and thier frequency increases during a resilver, which can lead to a death spiral. The increase in errors within a vdev during a resilver (I recently had three drives in an 8 drive raidz vdev "degraded")

zpool degraded status after resilver completed
I am curious why zpool status reports a pool to be in the DEGRADED state after a drive in a raidz2 vdev has been successfully replaced. In this particular case drive c0t6d0 was failing so I ran, zpool offline home/c0t6d0 zpool replace home c0t6d0 c8t1d0 and after the resilvering finished the pool reports a degraded state. Hopefully this is incorrect. At this point is the vdev in question now has
