Permission denied on server root for all users
The problem existed between keyboard and chair. I forgot to install libnss-winbind. I'm sorry for wasting your time. -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- > Von:Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org> > Gesendet: Fre 24 Juni 2016 12:59 > An: samba at lists.samba.org > Betreff: Re: [Samba] Permission denied on server root for all users > > On 24/06/16 11:23, mots wrote:

lmtp problem with wrong index path
Hello, we've been using dovecot for pop3 and imap for some time now and we're in the middle of deploying lmtp as well, however we're run into a problem we can't solve. Specifically for some reason it seems that dovecot tries to write to the wrong index file during some, but not all, lmtp deliveries. If lmtp tries to deliver to person user_a at domain, sometimes it'll try to

ICECast in Flash / IEWin
Hello, I'm using a flash player. First It didn't work with icecast 2. The blocking difference between icecast 1 and icecast 2 is that icecast 2 don't send the Content-Length header. So, I made a small PHP proxy and now Flash works very well with icecast 2. Other solution is to add this header in the icecast 2 source code and compile it, but I don't have time to test. My

Access rights from ACLs not honored when setting file attributes?
This is somewhat a reincarnation of a problem I am facing since upgrading to samba 3.5.6 (3.5.8 is identical). I use samba on an ext3 ACL enabled file system. Typically a users access rights are determined by his or her membership in different groups. The access right is therefore defined and granted by/to the group, not the user. These groups then appear in the ACL of directories and files

nlme: correlation structure in gls and zero distance
Dear listers, I am trying to model the distribution of fox density over years in the Doubs department. Measurements have been taken on 470 plots in March each year and georeferenced. Average density is supposed to be different each year. In a first approach, I would like to use a general model of this type, taking spatial correlation into account:

Dear list members, I am working with a Cox ph model for the duration of unemployment. The event of interest in my analysis is getting employed. I have various background variables explaining this event: age, sex, education etc. I have multiple unemployment spells per person. I use a model with person-specific frailty terms in order to take into account the correlation of spells by the same

Samba, Winbind and AD. Nearly there but not quite
Hi, Just compiled latest version of samba and trying to get Samba to work with AD. I am at the point where I wbinfo -t, wbinfo -u, wbinfo -g and wbinfo -ausername%password work, but I cannot get getent passwd and getent group to gather any AD info. I have noticed the following errors in /var/log/samba/smbd.log [2006/03/09 16:37:16, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:enum_dom_groups(282) No rid for

Hi, You should post your smb.conf of that file server. You should also tell us what kind of domain it is, in case of domain. That should help people to help you. Rowland, Sorry for the personal reply: my email default is set to reply to the sender only. Removing all the lines from smb.conf you suggested didn't resolve the issue, still getting the same messages in the log. I'll have to put back: winbind enum users = yes winbind enum groups = yes because without these lines commands: getent passwd getent group return only local passwd and group
