Operation not permitted mounting samba-share via cifs
Hi everybody, I want to use my samba-shared Homedirectory from my Linux-Server on my Linux-workstation. I was using smbfs until now, but since i upgraded my hardware i'm not any more able to use smbfs, i get error-messages (timeouts) in the kernel logs and I/O-Errors on the console. Having this problems i read about cifs and that's much better, nicer, sexyer and faster than smbfs.

Find reason for heavy load
My Centos 5 server has seen the average load jumped through the roof recently despite having no major additional clients placed on it. Previously, I was looking at an average of less than 0.6 load, I had a monitoring script that sends an email warning me if the current load stayed above 0.6 for more than 2 minutes. This script used to trigger perhaps once an hour during peak periods. Even so, I

NamedRegionTimer - printing structured data, full nanosecond resolution values
Hi all, I'd like to output structured data for all of the gathered timers with the full nanosecond numbers to a file, say JSON for example. Does the timer infrastructure support this, or at least installing some custom print handlers? If not, does any of that sound like an interesting patch? David

macOS Notes.app IMAP Syncing Not Working
I?m requesting help getting macOS?s Notes.app to sync notes with a new dovecot IMAP server. Thanks to dovecot?s excellent online documentation and help from this list, I have a new perfectly functioning IMAP server. The issue is that macOS Note.app does not sync with this server. However, iOS Notes.app *does* sync and work well with this IMAP server, and the differences between macOS and iOS
