wbinfo -u, wbinfo -g not working after samba update from 4.2.3 to 4.2.10
Hi list, After the badlock patching of all samba machines in our organization (all of them are domain members), some functionalities have stopped working, more particularly: - wbinfo -g (no output at all) - wbinfo -u (no output at all) - getent passwd (displays only local users) - getent group working functionalities: - samba shares

wbinfo -u, wbinfo -g not working after samba update from 4.2.3 to 4.2.10
Hi list, I'd like to update you on the issue, as I did some more tests. First, I've added some directives to smb.conf (in italic): [global] netbios name = testserver security = ADS workgroup = EXAMPLE realm = EXAMPLE.COM log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log log level = 10 dedicated keytab file = /etc/krb5.keytab kerberos method

NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT at open_socket_out_send due to firewall
Hi, We've got a few layers of firewall between our DCs and a domain guest providing winbind services. What I've noticed is that on first run winbind tries to use the high ports to set up part of the communication. During that process, the winbindd process runs at 100% CPU, and it takes about two minutes to time out. After that time things settle down and winbind works perfectly. For

Is the machine your configuring permissions on joined to the domain that samba is using? That's the last of my advice/querying ability, since DNS is on a proper server (and I assume pointed to the right address on the client as well) On Apr 21, 2016 11:00 PM, "Stefan Fuhrmann" <stefan at fuhrmann.homedns.org> wrote: > Hallo Luke, > > > okay, I attached the

We don't see any attachments... Can you post it somewhere, then include a link? As for the SID errors, what are you using for the DNS server? Tracking logins
Hi, I'm using dovecot-2.1.17 on fc18 and wondered if there is some mechanism, perhaps a database, that can store the logins/logouts for each user? I realize there's something already logged to syslog, but I'd like more of a history. While lastlog is great for users that actually login, my dovecot users don't login, just check email via pop and imap. Any ideas greatly

Bayesian inference: Poisson distribution with normal (!) prior
Hello, for a frequency modelling problem I want to combine expert knowledge with incoming real-life data (which is not available up to now). The frequency has to be modelled with a poisson distribution. The parameter lambda has to be normal distributed (for certain reasons we did not NOT choose gamma althoug it would make everything easier). I've started with the subsequent two functions to

classicupgrade, net rpc rights grant NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT and NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR
Dear all, we are transitioning from an openldap / MIT KDC setup to a samba4 AD. I am doing this by setting up a samba NT4 domain, populating it from LDAP and sticking in the password hashes which I automatically extract from the MIT KDC arc4-hmac keys. Then I run the classicupgrade. I do this whole thing from cron in a script once a day to be able to slowly migrate services. The MIT / openldap

Postfix and Dovecot LDA vs. LMTP
Thanks Jan. I've been trying to obtain an English copy of the Dovecot book for months, prior to starting this project. So far, I just can't find a copy. It's too bad that the author/publisher won't do a second printing or, if they're not interested in making any more money, then release it to the public domain as a PDF. Very frustrating. NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT
Samba occasionally fails with the following. I have seen many questions regarding this but no answers unfortunately. I am wondering what the setting is where I can increase this time out value of 10000 milliseconds in case that specific request is just slow. This is called many times a day and only just occasionally fails. I have looked through the entire manual for smb.conf and can't find a

Hello all, I'm having a problem with smbclient after an upgrade from 3.0.37 to 3.5.3 (I also tested 3.5.11 and 3.6.0). The client uses a command similar to: tar -cz /some/directory | smbclient '\\server_ip\share' -N -c 'put - "\directory\filename"' After that the client checks the exit status to determine if the transfer succeeded or failed. The server

What to configure for a guest with 2.2. kernel ...
Greetings, libvirt-users ... I ask for help with virtualizing an ancient machine with a linux kernel 2.2. I already succeeded doing that but I face random performance issues and I somehow get lost in all the settings and options. I am using Virtual Machine Manager: * I can't chose something like Linux for the OS and 2.2 for the kernel. Does the combination "linux/2.4 kernel"
