samba 4.4.14 breaks classic domain
I have several Samba 4.4.x servers (Solaris 11 x86_x64) in a samba classic domain. Samba patches are provided via the Oracle solaris package update system. The two domain controllers are running Samba 4.4.8. A few weeks ago I ran the latest package updates on a non-critical server, which brought it up to 4.4.13. All was OK as far as I could tell. This weekend I updated packages

samba 4.4.14 breaks classic domain
I increased the logging to 10 on the problem member server. Didn't see anything of interest. I did a packet capture on the PDC while typing " net rpc testjoin" from both the problem member server (4.4.14) and a working member server (4.4.13) e.g SMB: ----- SMB Header ----- SMB: SMB: CLIENT REQUEST SMB: Command code = 0x72 SMB:

Synology NAS Samba Upgrade breaks "Classic" domain membership
On both the synology (samba 4.1.20) and PDC (samba 3.6.25) testparm showed client schannel = Auto server schannel = Auto I don't know if the server even supports schannel. Maybe it doesn't any all the clients successfully negotiated not to use it. On the synology, I set client schannel = no This fixed my domain membership issue. Although

After some time 4.3.9 Member Server in different Subnet than ADS controller loses trust
Hello everybody, I hope someone can help me with this or point me into the right direction since I am not being able to solve it since weeks. Since last year I was running Samba 4.1.6 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS without issues as a active directory domain controller as well as member servers. Trouble started with the upgrade to Samba 4.3.8 (now 4.3.9). The ADS controller and most member servers are

samba security updates broke NT4 DC setup
I've been running a NT4-style domain with a samba 3.x PDC using a LDAP back end and it's mostly worked very will for a long time. However since yesterday, clients are having problems with the domain. I saw that updates came out on all my systems - my PDC and BDC are ubuntu 12.04 LTS. The samba version there still seems to be 3.6x. A client with a problem that was working is Ubuntu

And dont forget to setup the ldap certificate part as described in the change log of 4.4.2. Anyone should avoid the version 4.2.9-4.2.11
