Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found.
Hello, I've been trying to add a new server to my Samba 4 Active directory, but I've been failing so far. I'm running the command "net ads join -k" and it fails with "Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found." The answers I found so far imply a problem with the RPC service, but

"failed to lookup DC info for domain over rpc" when joining samba4 domain
Hey Richard, you should post your debug log because your attachment has been scrubbed. Have you checked your DNS entries? I don't know why but I had an issue some days ago that the host a entry for my fsmo DC had disappeared. Regards Tim Am 9. Trouble Joining Windows 2008R2 Domain with Error 'failed to lookup DC info for domain 'FULLY.QUALIFIED.DOMAIN' over rpc: Access denied'
All, I've been trying to troubleshoot a difficult-to-pin-down domain join issue, where a fully-updated CentOS 6 host cannot join a domain hosted by a fully-patched Windows 2008 R2 domain controller. I am running CentOS 6's samba build version 3.6.9-167.el6_5. I have checked all of the usual suspects (time, kerberos, DNS lookup), and all seem well: # kinit administrator Password for

Account Administrator works for "net rpc info", but not for "net rpc join"
Hi, I'm using Samba 3.2.5 in conjunction with kernel 2.6.26-2-686-bigmem (Debian Lenny) and recognized that when setting up ldapsam:editposix in accordance with http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Ldapsam_Editposix it turns out that net rpc info -U Administrator on Linux box works as expected, whereas net rpc join -U Administrator yields NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE In the server log (file
