Samba4 member of an another « Samba4 » domain
Hi,
I have a Samba4 domain controller installed on Debian Wheezy (Domain = CHEZMOI.PRIV). I try to installed an another Samba4 server which is just a member of the CHEZMOI.PRIV domain. But I don't succeed. I have followed this page :
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/Domain_Member
But I have :
~# net ads join -U administrator
Enter administrator's password:

Hello,
I've been trying to add a new server to my Samba 4 Active directory, but I've been failing so far. I'm running the command "net ads join -k" and it fails with "Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found." The answers I found so far imply a problem with the RPC service, but

Try to ping from client to server with its hostname. Sounds like dns
problem.

Then try to ping its ip address.
Then try to add server address to host file.

After joining domain, Samba uses the workgroup name, not the FQDN when running the net ads command
192.168.127.129 is the core DNS server. It forwards anything in the
windows subdomain straight to the DCs, so it doesn't matter if this client

wrong behavior, which is use the short .WINDOWS instead of .

I can't join the new AD server with Samba4
Hi, I'm sorry for my english.
i've migrated an old 3.6 samba domain to Samba 4.1 and the windows part is
working fine (i can join and manage the server from a Windows Machine), but
when I try to join the domain from another linux server it fails.
I've followed this guide to migrate:

samba4 as domain ad member
Hello,
I didn't make a step forward with my problem or misunderstanding in samba3 in that case "AW: [Samba] CentOS Samba as Domain Member", so I decided to try it with samba4.
Here I ran into another problem with winbind and it's called: NT_STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER_MIX.
This is my configuration and relevant logs.

A working CUPS authentication now fails without change anything...
Hi,
Just a moments ago i've sent a message to other user saying that I've a
working server with CUPS authentication using AD groups. Well, that
authentication is not working anymore and i've not changed anything...
The thursday I was configuring the server to allow the management of cups
with AD groups and was working perfect. After that i've added some printer
alias to samba

Samba 4.8 RODC not working
Hi Rowland,
I have no homes share. As far as I know I should not have that share on a DC ..?
Regarding the security consideration for a DMZ zone, what do you suggest instead of putting a RODC in it ?
Note : Yes I can ping DC, there is no routing / firewalling issue (validated).
Thanks

Failures to renegotiate machine password & domain participation check fails
Hello everyone,
Can I ask for some assistance please. Apologies if there is an easy solution to
this tail of wow that I haven't been able to find online.
We've been having persistent problems with a Scientific Linux release 7.4
machine that is joined to an Active Directory domain. Ever 30 days or so it
trust relationship between the server and the domain would fail, apparently
because
