I've had a call from a client yesterday who had issue with his copiers'
scan2folder feature after badlock samba file server upgrade. The
mount.cifs ntlm basic auth was not working either, and we had to

Files larger than 1GB fail to copy
I have a QNAP TS-410 NAS on which I have some CIFS shares. I'm trying to
copy some biggish files from a Lunix machine to the CIFS share on the NAS
but have runs into problems. I've created files of various sizes and I've
found that I can copy files up to size 1024MB to the CIFS share on the NAS,
but when I try to copy anything larger than that the copy command hangs

ADS authentication stopped working
Running Samba mostly on Redhat 5 with version 3.5.4-0.83
Also failed on Debian 3.5.6 and Solaris with a 3.5 version.
Logging details here are from Redhat case.
We have a similar problem on all Unix/Linux systems using
ADS as the backend authentication for samba shares on Unix/Linux.
It was working before today and we didn't change anything.
Today, any time we try smbclient or a Windows drive

win 7 client can't map drive: getpeername failed
Hi,
this is my first foray in samba (and newsgroups) so go easy :)
I'm trying to map a network drive from a windows 7 pro client to a QNAP NAS:
net use s: \\qnap\share
I've posted on several forums and got good advice but the problem remains.
Rather than repost all the detail, please see my original posts:

Kerberos and NTLMv2 authentication
Dear Samba Users,
I set a samba share (4.8.1) on a linux (centos 7) as server member ;
authentication is done against a AD win 2012 R2 server through winbind.
I thought authentication was using kerberos, but I checked log and found :
Auth: [SMB2,(null)] user [MYDOMAIN]\[mydomainuser] at [mar., 11 juin 2019

Help - Cannot join Windows 7 client to Samba PDC
I have been going through all the Wikis and various Google searches to try
to solve my problem, all to no avail.
I can mount a Samba share, but whenever I try to login using a domain
account, I receive an error about "The trust relationship between this
workstation and the primary domain failed."
What I have done so far, all to no avail.

"getpeername failed" error when signed communications policy enabled
Hi,
I'm looking for help with an issue that we are seeing with the following
configuration:
We are using Samba (3.5.12-72.fc15) to share out CUPS printers from a Fedora
15 machine. However, a requirement of the system is that these printers are
not directly visible from client systems (Windows 7 SP1 32-bit), so instead
we are sharing them out from a Windows print server (Windows 2008 R2

BDC Rejecting auth request from client + Windows 7
Just some background: In our environment, we are running both a PDC and
BDC. The local network setup has static ips on a different subnet from dhcp
ips, thus the PDC has a static ip and the BDC has a dynamic one so the
Windows machines are able to see the domain without hardcoding in the ip of
the PDC as a wins on each machine. This has worked fine for Windows XP. We
are also using ldap as the

windows7 and samba 3.4.7 in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Is there a specific way of doing the smb.conf to make windows7 join the
domain?
was able to make windows7 join in one instance but when is not
successful in logging into the domain using a domain user and also
cannot add a domain user to the local machine.
From my initial attempts, I was able to join the win7 machine but after
I upgraded to 3.4.7 everything seems to have gone to hell.

Samba 3.5.9 with Windows 2008 R2
Hi All,
We're going to upgrade our DCs to Windows 2008 R2 native mode soon, so we're facing with the challenge that how to get our samba servers (Solaris 8 & Solaris 10) work with Windows 2008 R2 native mode. I've compiled Samba 3.5.9 with AD support. Then I installed and configured the binaries on my 3 test machines (one Solaris 8 and two Solaris 10). The strange problem is one

"stuck" new directories and Mac Finder hangs after upgrade to 4.2.11
Hi,
I’ve been searching online for a few days and am still hurting for an answer, otherwise I wouldn’t jump into a list and start asking questions straight away.
We’re a 99% Mac shop running El Capitan (10.11.4). We’d been running Samba 4.2.3 on FreeBSD 10.0/ZFS for a while with minimal problems. I recently upgraded to 4.2.11 because of Badlock. Now when users create a new folder then try to
