Keep group on new created files
Hello,
I'm trying to set the final permissions of my shares because we comes from
an old samba managed by IP, and I've noticed that when I create a new file
it has the default user group (Domain Users) instead the default configured
group.
I've used chown and chmod g+s to do it, and when I create a new file in
that folder from terminal it keepts the group, but when I create a new file

Unable to authenticate with Samba 4.5 from XP box
Hello,
I've a computer that has XP for compatibility purposes and is outside the
domain.
I'm trying to mount some shares that are on a Member Server with Samba 4.5
but always get an error saying that password is wrong. All other computers
can enter to shares without problem and I'm sure that the password is OK
because I can login on Windows 7 computer and even I've mounted a share

permission problem with vfs object recycle:directory_mode
Well,
Despite I've recently answered about vfs object recycle on this list,
it seems that it isn't working as excepted.
Using Samba 4.4.5, compiled from sources
Here is the conf for a share:
[musique]
path = /media/data/musique
read only = No
vfs objects = acl_xattr recycle
recycle:directory_mode = 0770
recycle:subdir_mode = 0700

I am struggling to solve this problem.
My file server Samba 4.4.5.
Even the administrator user (domain admin) could not write to the share.
Could someone give me a hint, in order to solve this problem?

Enable Recycling
So I've added the following information to my smb.conf in the general
section based off various information on the internet, but primarily from here:
http://timtrott.co.uk/enabling-recycle-bin-functionality-samba/
Nonetheless when I delete files from any shares they are not sent to

Vista Issues with samba
We have Samba setup for our shared drive. I have pasted the smb.conf file
below. Everything is working well accept when we try and run an EXE file
using Windows Vista. When we run an EXE file it first ask for UAC control
then it pops up the username and password prompt. You must then type your
username and password in again before it will run.
I think the issues is that UAC is now running the

Excel and Samba Problem
Hello,
We have a problem with our Samba server (we tested with two versions 3.6.6 and 4.1.11).
When a User edit an Excel file and saves, another user can not save this edited later.
The temporary file named like 885E9010 will be created and Excel reports that this file can not be accessed.
I have test it with Windows and Mac. Both have the same Problem.
This is our samba configuration:

There are no currently logon servers available when mapping with "net use"
Hi people, I have a problem and I need so much of your help.
I have a login script in \\server1\netlogon\script.bat (on my PDC and BDC)
that runs "net use" commands to map some shares in time of the logon.
This login tries to map share in another server (samba member of domain
\\server2).
So, I put the result at a log and appears these lines:
"
System error 1311 has occurred.
