Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4
Hello. Anyone else experiencing Problems with this update ? We do have W2k AD. And Samba Member-Server. This is done via Winbind without using Kerberos. After installing the Update to our AD-Servers. It seems that winbind lost its connectivity. wbinfo -t worked. wbinfo -u showed errors. After removing the update from all our servers, winbind works again. Should I move our configuration to

Winbind issue
All, After upgrading to samba 3.0.30 on gentoo amd64 because of my recent best friend CVE-2008-1105 My winbind daemon is 'hanging up', and refusing to respond to pings after a few minutes of activity. Wbinfo -u, getent passwd all work successfully, then after a bit wbinfo -p just tells me winbind dies. I have 3.0.30/winbind on another machine, also amd64 that is working.... So

after upgrade from 3.0.7 -> 3.0.14 extrem slow access from window s 2000
Hello list, a samba server serves the home directories for about 100 Windows 2000 clients. We had samba 3.0.7 (on debian woody) installed, and upgraded to 3.0.14a (we used the sernet packages on debian sarge). Now access to files from windows 2000 clients is extremely slow, especially on .exe files. Simply selecting a exe file from windows explorer may freeze it for 2-10 seconds. Other file

Samba server in a failover environment
Hello, Samba Gurus ..... I have a Samba server running on a pair of SUN servers (server-a and server-b). The samba shares are NFS mounted from a third SUN server (server-c). I installed Samba 2.2.7a on the paired SUN servers under /usr/local/samba (Samba 2.2.7a is locally installed on server-a and server-b, since /usr/local/samba is local on the rootdisk.) The failover environment works like

winbind limitations
Hi. Does winbind has limitations with lots of users in domain? I'm compiled samba 4.3.1 and created 40 users, so winbind and getent works fine, but when created 26.000 users and "wbinfo -u" doesn't show users. On DC Member Server, "wbinfo -u" and "getent passwd" doesn't show users to. On log.wb-CORP appears: [2016/02/23 18:46:46.319393, 1]

3.0.27a, ubuntu server7.10 auth issues
I have upgraded to version 3.0.27a on ubuntu 7.10 server and now the getent command wont display the active directory users, but wbinfo will. It worked fine with 3.0.26a and I have not changed my configuration. I do however have this in my winbind log: [2007/12/04 13:39:01, 0] nsswitch/winbindd.c:request_len_recv(544) request_len_recv: Invalid request size received: 2084 (expected

bwinfo -u works getent passwd doesn't
Hi, I have Samba 3.0.21b running on Solaris 10 with ADS authentication. I get the following in log.winbindd when I do "getent passwd" but wbinfo -u lists all the users. Does anyone know why and how to fix it? Thanks, Vahid. [2006/02/04 13:37:02, 3] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:query_user_list(234) ads query_user_list gave 9926 entries [2006/02/04 13:37:04, 3]

Samba 3.0.26a, windows 2k3 r2 SFU, problems with auth/nss
Dear samba list, For some time we've had servers connecting to a w2k3 r2 server via ADS setup. Wins was working fine and users were able to authenticate. Recently we've added a GFS like system. This required getting the UID/GID's unified. Suggestions were made on the samba IRC channel to install SFU on the PDC. I'm receiving some very strange output. Usernames/pwd have
