Major Axis residuals
I am having trouble extracting residuals from Major Axis and Standardized Major Axis fits, using the smatr package. I wish to understand the relationship between density of wood in twigs and trunks, and how the slope of their relationship varies among sites, among families, and with tree size. These variance-partitioning desires push the analysis toward a mixed model framework. However,

Pinging DomU from DomU
Hi, I am running Xen 3.0.2 in bridged networking on RHEL4. Everything seems to be working nicely, apart from a worrying issue. I can ping from Dom0 -> DomUs okay. I can ping from DomUs -> Dom0 okay. HOWEVER. I cannot ping DomU -> DomU. --- # ping xxx.xxx.xxx.248 Do you want to ping broadcast? Then -b --- Even when I try with the -b switch, I get no joy. Thoughts? TIA! Y.

Cookbook/HowTo for using XEN to create a complete DMZ?
Hi Folks, XEN seems to me to be the ideal partner to create a complete DMZ with firewall, router, "Bastios Host(s)" etc within a single PC. So far, I haven''t found any cookbook or how to (at least for the beginning). Anyone knows of such thing? Xen and SAN : snapshot XOR live-migration ?
Please tell me if I am wrong : Xen needs LVM to perform domU snapshots and snapshots must be performed by dom0. By the way, a LVM volume group should not be used by more that one kernel at the same time. So if we use a SAN storage, one volume group should be activated on only one server and deactivated on the others. But if we do that, it should not be possible to perform live migration of

LVM & volume groups
Can anybody tell me if it makes a difference if domU''s have separate LVM volume groups? For instance, the Xen User Manual ( http://tx.downloads.xensource.com/downloads/docs/user/#SECTION03330000000000000000) says, when setting up a domU''s disks with LVM, to do a vgcreate vg /dev/sda10 Should each domU have it''s own volume group, or can all the domU''s share

MGCP service from Free Télécom
I'd like to use the VoIP service from Free with Asterisk, but am having a couple of problems. Here are some details: ADSL from Free T?l?com comes bundled with VoIP and TV services. Most users access the VoIP via the supplied Freebox, which is an integrated DSL modem, router, ATA, and media player. It is of course possible to connect the Freebox to Asterisk via an X100P or other FXO

WINS problems
Hello, Is it possible to add some static entries to the WINS database? We would like to add a few (logon-)server entries to it, when wins starts up. Why? We have several Samba servers who act as logon server on different subnets for different domains. Each logon server also acts as a local WINS server. It doesn't seem possible, not even with the options 'remote announce' or

Badlock bad luck
Hello, I run a CentOS 6 machine with samba, serving approx. 150 Windows users with samba running as an NT-like PDC. After today's samba update (samba-3.6.23-30.el6_7.x86_64 etc.), nobody can log in. They all get the "Trust relationship failed" error message. If I downgrade: yum downgrade samba-common samba-winbind samba-winbind-clients samba-client samba samba-doc

Just to follow up, the fix for us was to add "client ipc signing = auto" to our smb.conf configuration file. Another follow up. I have a Centos 6 server running as a Samba NT4/PDC Domain controller and have seen the regression with 3.6.23-30 release. Client is a Windows 2008R2 server. Workaround with smb.conf parameters given here seems to work but it works only for accounts already existing in the domain. New accounts get a "There are currently no logon servers available to service the
