Secure dynamic update failure with internal DNS
Hello,
At one point secure dynamic updates worked. Now I require 'allow
dns updates = nonsecure' for dynamic updates to work. I can't seem to
find any trace of updates being performed in the samba logs or Windows.
I've hit a wall and can't seem to progress. Since I couldn't pull
anything from the logs I decided to run 'nsupdate -g -d -D -L 10'. This

If you have them, I think you may be the only one who does ;-)
A bit of searching doesn't turn up anything about _ldaps records, just
_ldap.

What the heck is wrong with cron?
*/1 * * * * nobody /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/osticket/api/cron.php
in /etc/cron.d doesn't get executed at all (ran from console works of
course!). But the SAME file in /tmp runs flawlessly:
*/1 * * * * nobody /usr/bin/php /tmp/cron.php
It's CentOS7 on VPS with no SELinux.
I've noticed similiar behavior before (on bare metal server with

Seemed strange is all. Can the nobody user read down into
/var/www/html/osticket/api? If it works in tmp, maybe permissions are the
issue.

Client specific logging bug?
Hello,
Enabling client specific logging I receive the following error when
issuing
@pdc1:~# /usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool testparm
Can't find include file /usr/local/samba/etc/smb.conf.client-%I
ERROR: Unable to load default file
Samba does find the file as evident by the log being created and using
the appropriate parameters.

lmhosts rsyncd.secret

replPropertyMetaData & KCC issues after updating to Samba 4.5.0
Hello,
Updated samba from 4.4.5 to 4.5.0. All DC's are Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS.
I install samba from source(./configure,make,make install). Looking at
the release notes I see the section on "replPropertyMetaData Chnages".
I run 'samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix --yes' and see the errors
and samba attempts to fix.
ERROR: unsorted attributeID values in

Adding a new DC - ID Mappings
Hi Rowland - thank you for replying. I have now demoted and removed the temporary DC with the intention of repeating the exercise from scratch later this week. It was a Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 and the smb.conf was very vanilla:
[global]
workgroup = ACASTA
realm = ACASTA.INTRA
netbios name = UBUNTU
server role = active directory domain controller
dns forwarder - 192.168.200.3
