SYSVOL Replication in a Windows-driven AD environment
What you can try. Map the sysvol share from the samba to a driveletter on the DC. Add : acl_xattr:ignore system acls = yes Too the sysvol share on samba. Use deltacopy to copy the sysvol I havent tried it, but above seams logical and can work, you just have to try it yourself. If deltacopy does not work, try cwRsync or robocopy. Deltacopy

cwRsync on windows
Hi folks, It may be a very basic question for many people here but I have been struggling with Windows commandline. My CentOS machines are running perfectly fine. Question: I have installed cwRsync server on one of Windows 2003 and cwRsync client on the other Windows 2003. What command should I run to connect to the cwRsync server from the client? and how can I make sure that cwRsync is even

Rsync windows vista permissions problems
I am using deltacopy (uses rsync) to backup up a drive in windows vista to a freenas server. Before moving to vista, had the system working fine (on a windows xp machine). The command used for the backup is: rsync.exe -v -rlt -z --delete "/cygdrive/F/TXT/" "nas::160d/_Acer_F/TXT/" As a result of this command, rsync should create a dir (not on nas) and then copy some files

NS Records for AD-Integrated Zones
Hello, My domain was provisioned using a Windows 2008R2 server as the first DC, and I then subsequently joined a Samba 4.4.2 DC running on Ubuntu 14.04.4 and using BIND 9.9.5 as the DNS backend. Everything seems to be working properly after I added an NC replica for the zones as per the troubleshooting page. All zones resolve and replicate properly, but I noticed that there are no NS records

include/exclude problems
Dear Wayne, I am using rsync to synchronize my working files from home computer to the work computer. I want to sync only the files in some directories and no .files. However, I do need to sync several files from .mozilla director (addressbook, calendar and bookmarks) which are located in the .directory. I use the following command and the "excluded-utk.txt" file rsync -aunvz

Integrating Rsync into my own Application
Hi all, I have been using the cwRsync distribution of Rsync. I currently use a Windows Batch file script to do the work, calling Rsync where necessary. I want to now roll Rsync into my own application, probably developed with C# for the Windows platform. Has anyone done this before? If so, can you point me in the right direction of how to start off? I'm really just looking to create a simple

Windows DC to Samba DC Sysvol replication
Why can't one use robocopy to do unidirectional replication from a Windows Domain Controller to a Samba Domain Controller? https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Robocopy_based_SysVol_replication_workaround

Full replication
Running Rsync on a Windows box. Trying to do replication, and it doesn't seem to be working as expected. I'm using -r. I put test.txt in the source dir. It copied over just fine. Deleted test.txt from the source. And it still exists in the target. Any ideas? Also, using robocopy, you can tell it to wait for X number of changes and loop. Can this be done with rsync? Thanks!

Doubt about sysvol replication on Samba 4
Hi, I have a Samba 4.5.16-Debian installed on Debian 9.9 as a DC. Atualy I have 2 Windows 2008 Server (not R1) of 32 bits. I intend replace my Windows DC by Samba 4. My doubts are: Do I need setup SysVol replication via DFS-R for Windows 2008? In positive case, is necessary Robocopy based SysVol replication workaround (Samba DCs -> Windows DCs) ? I'm afraid of Transfer and SeizE FSMO

why not a gui for rsync
I'm using rsync and I'm very glad, but, in some case, i'm not so happy. Some people are backing up the data with rsync but they have a lot of files, more than 100000 and 20 Gb of data. We are using batch files and the task scheduling system of windows. It is difficult to see if the backup is well done, sometimes, they are error. We try to make some gui, one in java, an other in c++

rsync daemon not answering
Hi everyone. I have a problem: I was running rsync --daemon on a Ubuntu 6.10 linux without problems. I used it to sync our company intranet from a Windows host through deltacopy. Then I migrated my system to new hardware and installed Ubuntu 7.10 on it. I run rsync --daemon with the same rsyncd.conf file and it?s not listening to any requests.
