Problem with smbclient->MSDOS Server
Hi All, Here's an interesting one... I need to be able to connect smbclient on a linux machine to a dos based machine, which is running MSCLIENT and the WG1049 patch. I can browse to the machine and see all the files from Network Neighbourhood in Windows, but if I try and go in with: smbclient \\GAUGE1\C, or even just smbclient -L GAUGE1 all I get is: Added interface ip=10.0.1.1

Hey, Can you give us the volume info output for this volume? Why are you not able to get the xattrs from arbiter brick? It is the same way as you do it on data bricks. The changelog xattrs are named trusted.afr.virt_images-client-{1,2,3} in the getxattr outputs you have provided. Did you do a remove-brick and add-brick any time? Otherwise it will be trusted.afr.virt_images-client-{0,1,2} usually.

Gluster replicate 3 arbiter 1 in split brain. gluster cli seems unaware
Hi Karthik, Thanks for the info. Maybe the documentation should be updated to explain the different AFR versions, I know I was confused. Also, when looking at the changelogs from my three bricks before fixing: Brick 1: trusted.afr.virt_images-client-1=0x000002280000000000000000 trusted.afr.virt_images-client-3=0x000000000000000000000000 Brick 2:

Hey Henrik, Good to know that the issue got resolved. I will try to answer some of the questions you have. - The time taken to heal the file depends on its size. That's why you were seeing some delay in getting everything back to normal in the heal info output. - You did not hit the split-brain situation. In split-brain all the bricks will be blaming the other bricks. But in your case the

Now is working properly. I'm copying the Windows files to Samba4 and I'm not able to copy the NTFS security information. In the logs it states that the destination is not an NTFS system.

[nbdkit PATCH 4/8] Revert "RHEL 5: Define O_CLOEXEC and SOCK_CLOEXEC."
This reverts commit 25206df20275aeff346d9b86adf5e9be99cc9e43. An upcoming patch wants to ensure no leaked fds from the server to a child process. POSIX has required O_CLOEXEC since 2008, and although current POSIX doesn't yet specify full atomic interfaces everywhere such as SOCK_CLOEXEC, it does have an open bug since 2014 [1] recommending the full set of interfaces that will be mandatory

[nbdkit PATCH v2 04/17] Revert "RHEL 5: Define O_CLOEXEC and SOCK_CLOEXEC."
This reverts commit 25206df20275aeff346d9b86adf5e9be99cc9e43, and temporarily breaks compilation on Haiku which has O_CLOEXEC but lacks SOCK_CLOEXEC [1]. An upcoming patch wants to ensure no leaked fds from the server to a child process. POSIX has required O_CLOEXEC since 2008, and that is long enough that we should start blindly relying on it. Meanwhile, POSIX doesn't yet specify full

[nbdkit PATCH v2] plugin: add and use nbdkit_realpath
Introduce a new helper function to resolve a path name, calling nbdkit_error on failure: other than doing what nbdkit_absolute_path does, it also checks that the file exists (and thus avoids errors later on). To help distinguish it from nbdkit_absolute_path, improve the documentation of the latter. Apply it where an existing path is required, both in nbdkit itself and in plugins. Related to:

Problems accessing Linux Shares
I use Redhat Linux 9, SWAT version 2.2.7a-8.9.0 , and Samba version 2.2.7a-8.9.0. I have one Windows 2000 and one XP system that use the linuxbox as a filserver. There are various access problems with the Windows machines getting access to the Samba shares. The Windows2000 machine accesses the Linux shares fine (requiring authentication for each share and giving access rights based on the local
