windows system got corrupted and is not reporting mtime correctly to
underlying programs. Try on a fresh install of windows or some other
computer to be sure.

Problem with Notepad ++
A little more thought into helping troubleshooting maybe take an ls -l and
a properties screen shot in the middle of editing a file. It could be some
setting in notepad++ that is interfering with itself.

"send" marked text into notepad.exe (copy&paste)
Hi:
Can somebody please enlighten me how far the cut&paste function in
Wine has matured?
Here's what I'm trying to do:

(off topic) Re: Notepad
The discussion on editors prompts the following comments.
1) One reason I put "Kickstarting R" together is that most people come
to R as migrants; they already have an editor, a browser, etc. that they
know how to use. Learning one thing is easier than learning many (Jon
Baron's comment on interference is most relevant).
2) NotePad isn't a great editor, but it will serve for

wine notepad - simple Wine failure
Hi,
Someone mind verfiying this simple test? Using wine-20041019 run
wine notepad
Notepad comes up. Choose 'Page Setup'. Dialog box comes up. Choose OK.
Dialog box does not go away. Choose cancel. Dialog box does not go
away. Only way out (for me) is to dismiss the box in the upper right
hand corner controls.
Does anyone know what the origin of this version of Notepad is?

Wine's Notepad
This may be a stupid question, but does anybody know why the Wine
version of notepad won't run on Windows? I get the error that it is
not a valid Win32 application when I try to run it. Shouldn't it be
able to run in Windows or Wine seamlessly? The Microsoft version of
notepad runs in both, so what's special (or not) about Wine notepad?

Problem running Windows Notepad under Wine
Gentlefolk,
I need to give someone the ability to create Windows-format text
documents, which I can then copy (via SMB) to a W2000 machine for
further processing. I've got the file-sharing up and running, and Wine
installed and running Windows Notepad OK, but I've hit a snag trying to
set it up to load Notepad automatically when the file-icon is clicked :-
