Member Server Configuration
Hi,
I have a Debian Stretch machine with Louis' samba 4.7.1 package installed. I have configured it as a member server and joined it to
my test domain. I tried the idmap rid back end and all worked ok, but am now trying the idmap ad back end. I have users' home
folders saved to a users share on the member server, configured to allow auto-creation of home folders when the windows user

Unable to use BUILTIN AD groups on a domain member
I have set up a share on a domain member server and am attempting to set the ACLs from a domain-joined Windows 7 computer as per the
WiKi at https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs
I want to use one of the BUILTIN groups, Backup Operators to be able to have Full Control on files in the share (as it will be used
for backups). However, when trying to assign the

Problems with quota dict in 1.1.alpha4
Hello,
there are problems with quota dict when multiple dovecot deliver processes are
launched in parallel. It can be reproduced by sending a mail with multiple
different recipients - the mail is delivered OK to all recipients, but the
quota are not updated correctly in sql. I looked at the code and it seems
that the problem is somewhere in dict cache.
If I configure in Postfix max number of

Domain users cannot log on locally to DC
Hi,
I have a samba 4.7.0 DC installed on a Debian Stretch machine. I
provisioned the domain with rfc2307 enabled and have set the Unix attributes
using Windows 7 RSAT/ADUC. I think I followed the WiKi pages correctly to
enable the pam_winbind module in PAM, and have allocated a gID to Domain
Users. After falling foul of the

Anova Test
Hi,
I am very new to R. I am trying to perform an Anova Test and see if it
differs or not.
Basically, i have 4 tests and 1 control.
Tester
Test1 Test2 Test3 Test4 Control
20 25 15 10 17
The inference is at alpha=0.05. they are all independent. I am trying to
find if they differ or the same.

javascript help
Hi list,
I have a list of tags. I want to be able to click on a tag and have that tag
name populate an input field. I think delicious used to allow you to click
on existing links to tag your bookmark similar to this (moving instead to
auto_complete).
My guess is the code looks something like this....

Alight, I've been working on this for too many hours straight. Any
help would be much appreciated!
(I posted this online to linux questions, it could be easier to read
on there... http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-server-73/samba-and-openldap-authentication-issues-637647/)
The problem is users created in smbldap-useradd can not login, unless
they also are a local user. for

Have an issue with catch-all - Dovecot-lda andPostfix
Hi,
I run dovecot version 2.1.7 and postfix 2.9.6.
I'm using dovecot-lda as local delivery.
I use virtual users and need to use catch-all for some of my domains.
My problem when using catch-all is that I got a separate email for each recipient.
As an example: If I send mail to: test1 at test.org, test2, test3 at test.org, test4 at test.org and have a catch-all which will send this mail to

merge gives me too many rows
Hi,
I am using merge to add some variables to an existing dataframe. I
use the option "all.x=F" so that my final dataframe will only have as
many rows as the first file I name in the call to merge.
With a large dataframe using a lot of "by" variables, the number of
rows of the merged dataframe increases from 177325 to 179690:

Writing UTF8 on Windows
Recent functionality in jsonlite allows for streaming json to a user
supplied connection object, such as a file, pipe or socket. RFC7159
prescribes json must be encoded as unicode; ISO-8859 (including
latin1) is invalid. Hence I would like R to write strings as utf8,
irrespective of the type of connection, platform or locale.
Implementing this turns out to be unsurprisingly difficult on windows.

How to access shares via HTTP (apache2)
Hello,
I configured samba fileserver as a member of samba domain. PDC and
fileserver are different machines.
It works great using windows sharing.
Now, I need to set up apache to serve my shares, but I am having
problem with permissions. Apache runs as www-user, and doesn't see
content in shares.
So I would like to ask, what is the proper way to use apache (or
another http server) to serve
