Intermittent Event Script Timeouts on CTDB Cluster Nodes
Hi All, I've got a CTDB cluster, managing NFSv3 and Samba, sitting in front of a GPFS storage cluster. The NFSv3 piece is carrying some pretty heavy traffic at peak load. About once every three to four days, CTDB has been exhibiting behaviors that result in IP-failover between two nodes for reasons that are currently unknown. The exact chain of events has been a little different each time

Shorewall-1.3.13
Just some stuff that was laying around in CVS: 1. Added ''DNAT-'' target. 2. Print policies in ''check'' command. 3. Added CLEAR_TC option. 4. Added SHARED_DIR option. [teastep@wookie Shorewall]$ cat releasenotes.txt This is a minor release of Shorewall that has a couple of new features. New features include: 1) A new ''DNAT-'' action has been

CTDB starting statd without -n gfs -H /etc/ctdb/statd-callout
Hello, First and foremost, thanks *very* much for ctdb. It's a joy to use after banging around with other HA solutions. We're planning to use it to export Samba and NFS shares throughout campus. I'm having one problem with the NFS part though. When ctdbd first starts statd (we're using CTDB_MANAGES_NFS=yes), it does so without appending the stuff in the STATD_HOSTNAME variable

CTDB and nfs-ganesha
Hi there ? I seem to be having trouble wrapping my brain about the CTDB and ganesha configuration. I thought I had it figured out, but it doesn?t seem to be doing any checking of the nfs-ganesha service. I put nfs-ganesha-callout as executable in /etc/ctdb I create nfs-checks-ganesha.d folder in /etc/ctdb and in there I have 20.nfs_ganesha.check In my ctdbd.conf file I have: # Options to

Capistrano + symlink to a shared images directory
Hi everyone, I have deployed a rails tumblelog site via capistrano, but have run into a problem. What I am wanting to do is this: In my deployment script create symlinks from the public directory so that the images directory points to a shared images directory. Reason being is I am adding an image upload to the site (not file_column) and need to easily add the uploaded images and thumbs into

CTDB and nfs-ganesha
Hi Marin - again thank you for the help. I can't believe I coundn't find any info about this big configuration change. Even the Samba WIKI doesn't really spell this out at all in instructs you to use ctdbd.conf. Do I need to enable the 20.nfs_ganesha.check script file at all, or will the config itself take care of that? Also, are there any recommendations on which nfs-checks.d

capistrano CLI automation - using capistrano as a library
Hi all, I''m trying to integrate Capistrano (thanks Jamis and DHH for such a lovely piece of software) into an application I''m writing. I can''t figure out, though, how to get output from capistrano when it''s used through the CLI or configuration class, however. I see that it implements a logger (Logger) and I see that starting on line 12 of the included

RPC error trying to access server
Hi I have a strange problem with a samba server, When I use "smbclient -L myserver" the shares gets listed ok. When I click on the server icon in a windows explorer box or type "\\myserver" I get an "RPC error ocurred" and I can not open the shares list. Same with "\\192.168.xx.xx" If I type "\\myserver\shared_dir" works fine in the windows

delay in winbindd user/group lookups with many users/groups in domain
Hi! I have the following problem: winbindd getgrnam/getpwnam/lookupname calls do not return for a long time (> 30 seconds) which is obviously quite annoying to the users. This usually happens at the "first" login, i.e. subsequent connections are not delayed until a (probably cache) timeout. I've failed to determine who is responsible for the caching yet. I'll provide

CTDB and nfs-ganesha
Martin - thank you for this. I don't know why I couldn't find any of this information anywhere. How long has this change been in place, every website I see about configuring nfs-ganesha with ctdb shows the old information, not the new. Do I need to enable the legacy 06.nfs 60.nfs files when using ganesha? I assume no. ?On 10/1/19, 5:46 PM, "Martin Schwenke" <martin at

Looking for people to create another 37signals
Hi Guys & Girls, Like many on this forum, I''ve been inspired by the success that 37signals has had with their great web apps. I''m a web designer/marketer (based Australia) and I''m looking for people to help me start a new company to develop web based apps. What prompted this post? Well, I was listening to a recent podcast where Jason Fried was talking about

So... what .net 1.1 apps do people have?
Now that 'winetricks dotnet11' can run one simple .net 1.1 app properly... what other apps are out there that need .net 1.1? How well do they run with Wine after you install .net 1.1 using a fresh copy of winetricks?
