[Samba 4.9.2] Panic error, BACKTRACE: 45 on Ubuntu 16.04
Dear all, I've an issue with my samba installation with a version of samba 4.9.2 that I’ve compiled for Ubuntu 16.04. Samba works without any particular issues until I try to use the sharing for Time Machine backup. In fact, after starting the Time Machine backup after a while, random time like 2-3 hours of backup, I got the following panic error and the backup stops and I need to reboot

Hi, everybody. I can't understand the nature of the exact error on my samba-server. I'd be very thanksfull for some help... Here's situation: One Linux-server (CentOS 7.2) with Samba and a network of 14 noteboks (win 10). At some point, during working day, smb starts dumping core and syslog giving us the following: 2016-01-16 18:45:15 err infoclinik daemon smbd 2016-01-16

widelinks_warning - but unix extensions *are* off
Sorry for the delay and thanks for your pointers. "allow insecure wide links" does not change the behaviour, tried that before. Which is strange, if you look at the code. On the other hand it is clearly not a static misconfiguration, otherwise I would be able to reproduce it. About half of the time, we get a PANIC about 5 to 10 minutes after these strange widelinks_warnings appear in

ctdb error after upgrade to 4.12.10
Dear Jeremy, thanks for your reply. I assume I load the the debug symbols by passing something in the [global] section? I now changed back to a fuse_mount to get my colleagues back to work again. Tomorrow at 17 CEST I can add a test share with vfs_glusterfs to test it. Best Bene Am 09.11.20 um 17:55 schrieb Jeremy Allison: > On Mon, Nov 09, 2020 at 04:01:47PM +0100, Benedikt Kale? via

Samba AD/DC crashed again, third time in as many months
I'd remove the distro packages providing those libs in /usr/lib, as they could possibly cause problems. One more I forgot, which might possibly be responsible for corrupting your ldb database if the wrong one is loaded by samba at runtime, is libldb. >From the log, I'm guessing your database is corrupt if it can't read the schema, but someone else might have more insight. Samba AD/DC crashed again, third time in as many months
Well, this puts me in a catch-22 situation... I can see the benefit of spinning up VMs as ADCs, unfortunately this machine is already leveraged to the limit and there aren't any resources available to support a single additional VM, let alone two of them. And I'm scratching my head a bit here as I have another Samba ADC deployed on another network, similar host OS, similar RAID setup, and
