I'm running a Samba PDC on Ubuntu Lucid (3.4.7) and am unable to join
Windows 7 machines to the domain. I have applied the registry changes
described at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows7
Windows XP machines can join with no problems.

Problem with "Armies of exigo"
I installed "Armies of Exigo". Everything worked. I then updated the "Armies of Exigo" office via the Internet.
There was this error:

Getting Windows XP drivers from print$
Hi list
I have two very similar printers set up on CUPS and Samba is configured
to share the drivers. I had been playing around with setting up a RAW
printer queue with native Windows drivers but eventually gave up on
that. I deleted all printers and redid them from scratch and now only
one of them works.

Freebsd + NT/Nt-Client am Linux-Server
Pam_SMB allows Linux clients to validate
their passwords against an NT PDC, so the
only thing you have to do is set up the
accounts on the Linux side with an '*'
in the /etc/passwd entry. This can be
done using a list of users:
#!/bin/bash
for i in `cat myuserlist`; do
/usr/sbin/adduser -p '*' $i
with various other command line options,
such as "-s

repeated measurements with R
Hello All,
I have a more statistical question, and how this is implemented in R.
The problem is the following:
We have 2 different solutions (samples), which are filtered and then
the concentration of the filtrate is measured.
We want to evaluate how the filter proces and the concentration
measurement influences the detection of the difference of the two
solutions and which step has which

Sending function key like F12 to a booting cd
Under Xen I am booting a virtual server from a recovery CD-Rom
(actually a iso image)
When the cd boots in the console window I have to
send the single key "F12" to the window within 10 seconds
from start, otherwise it will try to boot from harddisk.
Pressing F12 in the console window does not work - and I tried sdl as
well as vnc.
I can send various Ctrl+Alt-combinations using the

I am configuring Linux (2.0.33) as a local router. I am wanting to use
Samba (1.9.18p3) to "manage" the browse lists on my network so that
computers on each subnet can browse resources on the other subnets. My
local network consists of Win95 and NT40 workstations with NT40 servers.
My test configuration consists one token ring segment on one side of
the Samba box (network .192) and

0-length datagram
There appears to be a problem with sending 0-length (UDP) datagrams. I
have a little UDP server running on port 1392, and when I execute the
following client code the server does not receive anything. However if I
change it to data="x", the server receives it just fine.

Discard datagram messages
Hello All,
I have recently switched back over from using the MySQL backend to the
standard smbpasswd file in an effort to make our implementation of Samba
better.\
I am still having a great problem with getting messages from the nmbd
daemon saying that

[PATCH] VMCI: Check userland-provided datagram size
Ensure that the size filled in by userland in the datagram header
matches the size of the buffer passed down in the IOCTL. Note that we
account for the size of the header itself in the check.
