Samba 4.4 userParameters problems
Hi,
I recently upgraded 4.1.8 installation to 4.4.2. As per documentation I ran
samba-tool dbcheck. It reported some problems with userParameters:
ERROR: wrongly formatted userParameters on
CN=,OU=Users,OU=MyBusiness,DC=,DC=local, should not be psudo-UTF8 encoded.
I ran --fix as I read in some discussion that this was actually tested.
The problem after upgrade is, that it is no longer possible

Correcting "incorrect userParameters value on object...." ???
sernet-samba-4.2.14-23.el6.x86_64
Errors [on all DCs] related to incorrect userParameters values - on
user's that are working. How does one go about rebuilding/correcting
this value?

auth. username rewriting?
Hello,
Now, I'm faced with a problem: I need to be able to login using the same
username that I bind against using ldapsearch, and not the
sAMAccountName given to me via winbind.
ie. to login using one of my AD usernames right now, I issue:
su - ADSDOMAIN+username1
but the binddn I use to search the ldap directory is, say, username2:
ldapsearch -x -W -D"username2"

In bound SIP context issue
Hi All,
I am trying to configure asterisk to receive an inbound SIP connection and
send it to a specified context. Instead of sending the call the specified
context, asterisk is using the context default from [general]? Any
thoughts? I am sure that it is something simple I am missing.
To recap, it is sending calls to the context default, not thecontext...

[2.3.8] possible replication issue
I think there's a good chance that upgrading both will fix it. The bug already existed in old versions, it just wasn't normally triggered. Since v2.3.8 this situation is triggered on one dsync side, so the v2.3.9 fix needs to be on the other side.

Multiple Subscriptions to SIP accounts at Same Domain
Sorry not to have observed etiquet and lurked here for a bit before
wading in with a question but I have an issue that may well be because
I dont know enough about what asterisk is actually doing under the hood
to understand why I cant do what I want with asterisk.
Im hoping that someone can point me in the right direction :-)

[2.3.8] possible replication issue
Hi,
some of our customers have discovered a replication issue after
upgraded from 2.3.7.2 to 2.3.8.
Running 2.3.8 several replication connections are hanging until defined
timeout. So after some seconds there are $replication_max_conns hanging
connections.
Other replications are running fast and successful.
Also running a doveadm sync tcp:... is working fine for all users.
I can't see

VOIP PRI Gateways
I was hoping someone might have some knowledge to impart regarding
VOIP PRI Gateways or the psudo ISDN services being offered these days.
The official line in Australia is that "true" ISDN services are on
their way out.
I am testing a service provided by one of the telcos I am told that it
cannot provide ISDN cause codes for disconnected/invalid numbers and
all we get is the audio. Also

S4 Cannot Unlock Account
I have come across a few accounts (out of 300+) that seem to be locked that
will not unlock. These accounts were migrated from S3. Can someone advise -
what am I missing here?
I've reset the password several times via RSAT, checking the "Unlock
Account" checkbox, which has not helped. Resetting the user's password via
smbpasswd gives me:

two questions about samba
I would like to deny users access to the pdc based on the hostname.
so if username1 logs into computer1, that is allowed, if the user logs of,
and goes on to computer2, it will be denied because computer2 is a staff
machine
we have students that will sometimes try to use staff machines and i want
the login to fail.
i have lots of log entries that look like.
