Still can't figure out ACL issues
Yah, jimc again. I still cannot figure out what is wrong with my dc. The problem began with being unable to log on from Windows boxes after a power hit. The initial symptoms were: 1) When I log in on a Windows machine, with an account that should have administrator permissions, I don't have said admin rights. 2) When I attempt to launch the Windows remote server tools, I can select the

samba Digest, Vol 155, Issue 24; Still can't figure out acl issues
Yes, I did an fsck from a boot dvd. It came up clean. I did a recursive setfacal to set all acls to default. On 18 Nov 2015, at 03:33, jimc<jesmeyano at gmail.com> wrote: Yah, jimc again. AD + smbd?
Stupid question # 885: Can Samba 4.1 be both AD server and smb server? Some recent updates on my server broke a bunch of stuff. Samba was among them. I have managed to recover the AD server, but the smb server refuses to take control. Whenever I run the 'smbclient -L localhost -U%', I get all the correct messages, but no workgroup master. Domain=[OZCO] os=[Unix] Server=[Samba 4.1.2}

Village Idiot (esq) again: My DNS is not working
I spoke too soon in my last email. My DNS is not working. The host commands from the AD DC how-to all fail with NXDOMAIN. nslookup says server can't find nikola.ozco.home. Basically the same message. Here is a dump of my many tries. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- nikola ~ # export

kerberos on samba4 server / error loading ...acl_xattr.so (reply to Reindl Harald's replies)
Village idiot here again. Thank you for your replies. Really. As for the acl_xattr.so: I was trying a new 'out of the box' install. I have done the whole download source/compile/provision bit on a Mint 17.1 and I am getting much farther. Now I get 'cannot find kdc for realm "ozco.home" while getting initial credentials" when I try kinit. About Kerberos. You advised me

Sysvol "incorrect parameter" on some new DC's
I have a site with a working Samba4 AD domain with a single DC. It works. I've added three new DCs to the domain [using the SerNet packages for 4.0.21]. The intention is to then demote the old, original Samba4 DC. But problems exist for netlogon/sysvol. One of the new DCs - the second one added - works, clients can access netlogon & sysvol. However the other two DCs have ACL errors

[LLVMdev] Nightly Test Page Busted?
I had the same problem, actually. Is the HTML file just too heavy? It makes it hard to compare results from your workstation against the buildbots. 9.58 ies4linux busted: Repository with 9.44?
My debian Synaptic just updated me with winelib 9.58, which I should have been looking out for - because winelib 9.58 totally messes up internet explorer's display of pages with fixed backgrounds. (Repeated images, garbles everything). But winelib 9.44 is Ok, so I need to downgrade. Does anyone know of a repository that has winelib 9.44? Thanks.

My Net is busted
I cannot find the source of this problem for the life of me. I have a samba server I have had set up for ages, that I am finally needing to do groupmapping on. On that system if I do a net groupmap, I get noting at all returned except for a newline. In fact almost all net commands seem to not work properly, with the exception of net status. For instance: [root@file-server sbin]# net

Centos 7 as gateway - UDP performance is busted/awful?
I just replaced a dead system disk on my KVM host that was running an ancient fedora 13. Since centos 7 was available, I decided to go with it to get some long term stability. The problem is that NFS mounts inside the virtual machines don't work for spit when talking to older NFS servers that must speak UDP. Is there something about UDP traffic that requires tweaks I don't know about for

[LLVMdev] Nightly Test Page Busted?
We are experiencing serious load/memory issues on llvm.org and unfortunately, there is not anything we can do about it. This means that because the nightlytest page needs to access a mysql database, it will be very very slow. Bugzilla will be slow too. We have a machine being ordered, but it will take time to arrive and time to setup. Until then, I'm asking people to please try to be
