Inconsistency in LSA database prevents me to edit DNS zone
Hi all
A few month ago I had to change the IP address of my DC running Samba 4 and
Bind 9 as backend, in a LXC container running Debian 8u2.
I followed this documentation
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Change_IP_address_of_an_Samba_AD_DC
The documentation was rather good, but I found it was incomplete while
updating the DNS entries with
samba_dnsupdate --verbose
I had to use the DNS

TLS between winbind and openldap
Hi,
I'm working hard to setup winbind and openLDAP work together with TLS
My networks contains:
- a windows server 2008 R2 domain controller
- a debian 6 based file server (openmediavault v0.4) running OpenLDAP
2.4.23 and Samba v3.5.6
- a debian 7 computer running winbind 3.6.6
I want to let OpenLDAP store SID <=> uig/gid mapping to ensure constant uid

Speeding up simulation of mean nearest neighbor distances
I've written the function below to simulate the mean 1st through nth
nearest neighbor distances for a random spatial pattern using the
functions nndist() and runifpoint() from spatsat. It works, but runs
relatively slowly - would appreciate suggestions on how to speed up
this function. Thanks. --Dale

Samba 3.6.17 joined to Samba 4.2.0 AD domain, using winbind

Yet another memory limit problem
Dear List,
I have read and read and still don't get why I am getting a memory issue.? I am
using a Samsung PC running Windows 7.? I have set memory in the target field:
?"C:\Program Files (x86)\R\R-2.11.1\bin\Rgui.exe" --max-mem-size=3G
But when I try a simple plot I get:

Strange UID/GID mapping in Samba-3beta1 and Win2003 server
I have strange uid/gid problem.
I am testing Samba 3-beta1 and Samba is ADS member to W2003 server.
Everythings work, wbinfo, getent passwd and so on.
Now to the problem:
When I list the users with getent passwd I get:
Administrator:x:10000:10000:Administrator:/global/mnt1/SAMBA/home/TEST.SE/administrator:/bin/sh
Guest:x:10001:10002:Guest:/global/mnt1/SAMBA/home/TEST.SE/guest:/bin/sh

Assignments inside lapply
Dear all I would like to ask you if an assignment can be done inside a lapply statement.
For example
I would like to covert a double nested for loop
for (i in c(1:dimx)){
for (j in c(1:dimy)){
Powermap[i,j] <- Pr(c(i,j),c(PRX,PRY),f)
}
}
to something like that:
ij<-expand.grid(i=seq(1:dimx),j=(1:dimy))
unlist(lapply(1:nrow(ij),function(rowId) { return

Winbind: login "cannot find name for group ID XXXXX" ONLY RedHat 8
My RedHat 8.0 workstation doesn't want to play nice
with Winbind. The rest of our Samba servers (on
RedHat 7.3) are working fine, and I am familiar with
setting up Winbind.
Samba: 2.2.7a (RPM from Samba.org. RedHat's RPMs do
same thing.)

I'd copied the pam and smb.conf from a working box in

plotting group means
Hi all,
I want to plot the grouped means of some variables. The dependent variables
and the grouping factor are stored in different columns. I want to draw a
simple line-plot of means, in which the x-axis represents the variables and
y-axis represents the means. The means of the groups should be connected by
lines. So far, the only function that I could find comes closest to what I'm

getent ??
I've installed Fedora Core 2 from scratch, got my DNS and VNC to work, next
is Samba. I was running previously SAMBA 2.28a but now I'm working with
3.04. I've since bought Samba-3 by Example, and I'm following it fairly
closely. I've got samba to work with no shares yet, I've run initgrps.sh to
create my Domain Groups. Winbind is working. I do a getent groups and this

data.table not available as win binary for R 3.5 yet?
Dear all,
to my astonishment data.table cannot be installed on R 3.5 Windows. When
checking the package page, the Windows binary is available for download.
When checking the server however, I can't seem to find data.table. Also
install.packages() says the package is only available in source form and
may need compilation.
Compiling using Rtools 35 is no problem.
Is this merely an issue of

Find the flow data from its accumulation of the panel data
Hi,
I have the panel data of income statement of several banks. The date
9803 means 1998-Q1, 9806 means 1998-Q2, etc. I transform the date code to 1
(for 1998Q1), 2 (for 1998Q2), ...., 16 (for 2011Q4) where 1, 2, .... are
placed in Col1.
Now the income statement of a specific quarter is actually the
accumulation from the beginning of the year. For example, the cost data of
1999Q3 is the

moved DM config to new server : gids different etc
Last week the mobo in a DM server died, so we had to set up a fallback
machine and reinstall Debian 10.2 including Samba
I had smb.conf but not /var/lib/samba in backups.
Restored krb5.conf and smb.conf, rejoined.
Things work mostly ...
but for example I get gid 10006 for "domain users" instead of 10513 before.
and getent group doesn't show the AD groups, btw

I'm looking for the way to increase the depth value in 0.01 for each index group.

How to resample one per group
Hello,
I have got a dataframe which looks like:
y <- c(1,5,6,2,5,10) # response
x <- c(2,12,8,1,16,17) # predictor
group <- factor(c(1,2,2,3,4,4)) # group
df <- data.frame(y,x,group)
Now I'd like to resample that dataset.
I want to get dataset (row)
per group. So per total sample I get 4 rows
into a new data frame. How can I do that?
Is there any simple approach using an

Handing significance digits
Hi folks, recently I was trying evaluation of some complex function having
exactly same starting values as well as same algorithm in both R and .Net
environment. However at the end point I notice that there are some
differences in the reported figures from those two applications (as much as
0.10%). I feel this is basically due to consideration of different
significance digits in handling floating

[PATCH v2 0/5] iommu: Implement iommu_put_resv_regions_simple()
From: Thierry Reding <treding at nvidia.com>
Most IOMMU drivers only need to free the memory allocated for each
reserved region. Instead of open-coding the loop to do this in each
driver, extract the code into a common function that can be used by
all these drivers.
Changes in v2:
- change subject prefix to "iommu: virtio: " for virtio-iommu.c driver

ggplot2: Choosing colours
Dear useRs,
I'm trying to specify the colour of a factor with ggplot2. The example
below gets me close to what I want, but it's missing a legend.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Thierry
library(ggplot2)
dataset <- data.frame(x = rnorm(40), y = runif(40), z = gl(4, 10, labels
= LETTERS[1:4]))
ggplot(data = dataset, aes(x = x, y = y, group = z)) + geom_point(colour
