classicupgrade - resolving group conflicts
Greetings - In an offline-test environment, I just took a first crack at a classic upgrade of our Samba 3.6.9 (389-DS LDAP backend) environment to Samba 4.1.13 AD. Among other issues, I see that we have some group/SID issues to address. From the upgrade output: Could not add group name=guests ((68, "samldb: Account name (sAMAccountName) 'guests' already in use!")) Could not add

Classicupgrade succeded with Sernet-samba-4.2.1 AD, but Kinit not wokring
Thanks Luis I have changed ccdc.lan to CCDC.LAN (NOTE: I cannot change the LAN suffix, this is an old domain that needs to be imported into the samba 4.2.x version, it's a production domain and cannot be changed, furthermore it's on an isolated network. P.S. I have used the same name / procedure with the official samba 4.1.6 ubuntu package and that has give no error whatsoever) I am

Seems Any newer version causes an "ERROR no 6 and stuff about not being able to find "wordperfect" or quattropro executuables, and also saying it is a wine error. Join 2012 Server R2 as member to NT domain
Wow, this is great. However, we need to use DNS. If we enable it AFTER the computer has joined the domain, would it keep working, or DNS is no avail in W8.1? Can't join machine without full access
Sernet samba 4.2.2 in ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS, a fresh migration from samba 3 (I'm still in the testing phase). I'm experimenting with task delegation. Using the ADUC wizard, I select the "Join machine to domain" task to add to my userid (I also tried a group I'm a member of with the same result), at the domain level (rough translation, this is on a localized windows 7). help, please, troubleshooting winbind testing during setup of Samba 4 AD member server
Hello, all! Well, third time is *not* the charm for me. (I've been through the process 3 times with 3 different DCs). I am trying to set up a member server, using Samba 4.1.14, and washing out when getting to the winbind testing. I've tried ignoring the failure and pressing on, but that didn't get anywhere. In this instance, I have a freshly-installed, configured and functioning
